"What have you done? Why did you ruin everything? Our story was a fairytale dream come true."
She kept thrashing her arms on the door with full force, only for her pleas to fall on deaf ears. Her wedding bangles broke and fell, her wrists bled and h...
She came up to the wedding podium, dressed in an ethereal red Banarasi saree.
It was the same saree Rudra's mother had gifted her, and she wore it once years ago.
As she came closer, Rudra gave her hand to walk up to the platform and stand beside him.
He bent in closer and gave a kiss on her cheek. She blushed and glared at him, telling him to stop.
“The last time I saw you in this saree was when you were trapped in a fire. But here we are today, circumambulating the holy celestial fire.” He whispered in her ears.
“So you waited for me, all this while?” She asked him, her eyes glistening.
“I was very sure of my love for you. And I knew if I had to marry, it would be you. Twin flames go through many journeys and trials of separation but they always stay connected and ultimately, unite forever.”
They were getting married at the Triyugi Narayan Temple, where Lord Shiva had Himself married Goddess Parvati. It also happened to be the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.
When Kalyani asked him why he chose a place far away from their hometown, he simply said that he couldn't risk her running away again. And he dreamt of marrying her in a beautiful, private ceremony with auspicious and divine vibes.
“Oh really? Is this why you didn't marry all these years?” She asked him, clinging to his bicep and smiling like an innocent child.
“You better ask Mohini about that”, he teased her.
She scoffed and turned her head aside, acting annoyed. Although she was too happy and excited deep inside, she was beyond elated to be in his company for so long.
Just a matter of time and they would have each other's company life long.
“Well, what did you ask Lord Nandi?” He asked her to break the silence.
She looked at him in disbelief. Her beautiful, almond eyes, rimmed with kohl, looked even more gorgeous as they widened. Her pupils dilated, looking at the man she loved. Her naturally fair complexion was even more glowing, in the presence of her love. When women are loved and protected, they glow differently.
And protecting doesn't mean to go out and fight the world. It means staying in and shielding them with tender love, care and appreciation.
“Ofcourse I saw you. I was there before you opened your eyes and checked me out.” He clarified before she could ask him anything.
“I didn't check you out”, she lashed at him, offended by his flirting. “I was praying sincerely.” She slapped him playfully.
He looked down and laughed, the crinkles by his eyes becoming more prominent. His dimples flashed as he smiled.
He looks so cute and hot at the same time. I am falling in love again.
“So I am asking you, what did you pray for?” He repeated his question.
“You spotted me and yet you didn't talk to me. You simply walked away.” She looked at him and pouted her lips.
“If you both are willing, then may we proceed with the marriage ceremonies?” The priest asked, running out of the auspicious time.
They both laughed and held each other's hands.
“Yes”, they spoke in unison.
