The castle was buzzing with activity, the kings were in trial while most of the guard began training as much as they could before the coming war. The halls were filled with vampires, each going to a different task, each rushing from one area of the castle to another.

Morgan on the other had sat in the library, her mind thinking of a million different things all at once. Her dreams being at the forefront of all her thoughts. But occasionally she thought back on her life at forks.

How much simpler every thing was, how she didn't have to be involved in a war if she had just decided to stay in forks instead of come to Italy with Bella and Alice. Why did she have to make Edward's shit her problem? She wondered silently, shaking her head while letting out a soft sigh.

Walking to one of the many book shelves, she scanned the hundreds of books that covered each wall of the room. Looking at each title on the spine of each book, she finally found a book that called out to her.

The book title read "The Iliad". Humming lightly, she took the book and sat down on the couch. Opening the first page, she let her mind get lost in the book.

In the throne room, The three kings just ended another trial. As Aro sat in his throne, he let his head rest in his hand. He was quieter today, which caused concern for both Marcus and Caius.

"Everything alright Aro?" Marcus asked, pulling the raven haired king out of his thoughts.

"Yes, all is fine." Aro hummed, trying to make himself sound believable. When in reality he was far from alright. But he wouldn't let them know that. Not now.

Caius rolled his eyes before responding. "We know when you're lying brother." The blonde said simply.

"Do not worry about me," Aro reassured. "We have more important matters to attend to." He continued as he motioned to Felix and Dimitri to bring in another imprisoned vampire, to stand trial.

In the library, the more Morgan read, her mind began thinking of coming war with the Moldavian coven. Then began thinking about the kings.

Could she really allow herself to get close to them? Especially with what she knows what is to come? Could she really handle another loss? Could she stop Marcus from being killed? Thought after thought raced through her mind.

Was it possible to actually stop fate? She wondered. Could she actually change what was to come? Or was this her chance to run before shit hit the fan?

No, she couldn't. She promised herself to stop being selfish, she promised to give it a shot. Then her brain thought back to the Iliad, how Achilles knew he was fated to die, but still went to war anyway.

No, he wasn't able to stop fate, but he still went to Troy with no fear and got shit done.

She knew she couldn't run, she knew that the kings needed her and as did the rest of the coven. She had to fight. She need to at least try to change what was to come. Fuck what the fates had to say about it.

"You better not be getting any ideas." Caius's voice sounded through the quiet room as he pointed to the book.

Morgan's head quickly shot up from the book and looked up at the blonde king. Letting herself take a deep breath before responding.

"You scared the shit out of me.." she breathed before closing the book. "And maybe I was getting a few ideas." She said with a light shrug.

"If it is what I think it is, absolutely not." Caius said while shaking his head.

"Aww, you do care about me Caius." Morgan laughed lightly as she sat herself up in a better position to look up at him. The blonde rolled his eyes.

"Of course I do." He grumbled with a light huff.

"I thought you boys had trial?" Morgan said while tilting her head.

"We do, but I'm taking a break." The blonde replied simply before sitting himself next to her on the couch. "I want to know what Aro saw in your dream." He said after a moment of thought.

Morgan just sighed, she wasn't sure if she should tell him. It was already bad enough that Aro had to know. Did she really want Caius to know as well?

"All you need to know is that this war will not be as easy as you may think." Is all Morgan replied with. She really didn't want to elaborate further than that.

"Please don't give me that, who are we going to lose in this war?" Caius said, a hint of desperation in his voice. Which caught Morgan off guard.

"Caius..."she just sighed deeply again.

"Morgan, tell me who we lose. Is it You? Aro? Marcus? Me? The elite guard? Who?" Caius pressed, Morgan didn't know what to do. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place. "How am I supposed to have a set strategy when I don't know what's to come? He questioned.

Morgan thought about it for a moment before hesitating to respond.

"It's Marcus, we lose Marcus." She said finally. It hurt a part of her to actually say it out loud for the first time. Caius gave a look of shock, not knowing how to respond to what she had just said.

"How?" He asked, lost in thought.

"Lucentiu, had the three of you down to your knees. You were over powered. In my dreams by the time I got to the room you were all in. A vampire was holding Jane back and blocking her gift. Alec was dead, and Felix and Dimitri were being held down. Before I could get to the three of you, a vampire held me back. Lucentiu some how knew my name, knew who I was. I begged for him to kill me, but went over to Marcus and took his head clean off. Before anyone could do anything a vamp with a fire gift finished the job."  Morgan explained a part of her chest hurting as she did so. Why did it hurt her so much to think about losing any of them?

Caius just sat there, dumbfounded. His mind already thinking of was to stop what was to come. Different strategies popping up one after another.

"We need to find a way to stop it from happening." Caius finally said, his voice low as he looked At Morgan.

Morgan nodded and gave a soft understanding smile as she sat herself closer to the blonde.

For once the two of them sat silently in each other's company as they both thought of what do do. For once the two of them were not arguing or making rude comments. The just sat in silence, Morgan finally taking it upon herself to lean her head on Caius's shoulder which surprised him slightly, but he allowed it. He needed the comfort of his mate, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud.
