Inayat's Pov

"You go and sit down with them. I'll just be back." Ivaan turned around and left for our room.

I walked upto the living area where everyone was talking about something. I took a seat near Taraisha, who beamed at me with her infectious brightness.

"What's going on?" I said while looking around.

"Nothing special bhabhi. Maa is going to the hospital after the break, and dad has been sulking around about how much he's gonna miss her and what not." Darsh said dismissively, "I feel so lonely by seeing you all huddled around and whispering into each other." He scowled looking at dad and mom.

A laugh escaped mom's mouth as she heard him complain, "My sweet baby, that's why I told you to get a girlfriend. Or else I can arrange one."

As a flick of light, a haunted expression crossed Darsh's face by hearing her, and just like that it went away too. It was so fast that one could think there wasn't a shift in his mood. "I'm good, mom. I was just kidding, I never get nauseous by looking at you all." He smiled and shook his head and headed to the office.

Something was definitely wrong, very wrong. This wasn't the Darsh I knew all along, who made us all laugh, who made sure that I got a friend in him. This was a guy who was hurt and had secrets buried deep into his bones that he never wanted to relish again. And I wish that he comes out and seeks help, because sometimes, staying in your own shell doesn't make it go away but festers it, and I knew it better than anyone.

Ivaan walked down the stairs in his crisp navy blue dress shirt rolled upto his forearms, the veins on his arms stood out, paired up with cream dress pants that made his legs look so good that anyone can say he never skipped a leg day in his entire gym life. His eyes pinned to me as he crossed the room and stood in front of me. His eyes held a determined look as if he was ready for the mission that was on the way.

But there wasn't any mission, he just needed to drop me at my parents place for PAG PHERA, and pick me up from there if he got time or else I could come on my as well which I told him, but the man who was standing in front was hell bent on dropping and picking me up as well, 'cause apparently he missed his in-laws too.

"Ready to go?" He asked and I just nodded and stood up and smoothed my kurti with my hands. I looked up and saw him giving me his signature soft smile that makes me melt everytime I see it but doesn't show.

"Ivaan, I would have never told you to come to hospital if it wasn't an important meeting when you are on a leave, but this is very important and you know why as-" Before mom could say more she was cut off by Ivaan as if she was saying something that shouldn't be spoken in front of everyone.
