Volume 4~ B-Komachi

Ruby and Kana- Japan Idol Festival!?

There in the room sits 4 people. 3 trainees and a manager more like a caretaker.

Mem-cho- Yep, the producer of My Love has connections. If we are interested, he says he can squeeze us into the lineup

Kana counts.

Kana- isn't the JIF...in like...a month!? That's impossible! We're not ready! How can newcomers like us stand on such a big stage like-

Ruby- LET'S DO IT! I mean, we are talking about the JIF here! Wouldn't it be amazing for the new B-Komachi live performance will be on a stage as big as that?

Kana- But, we'll make a bad impression. They'll say we had connections

Ruby- It's okay! We are the successor of the legendary idol group after all!

Kana- Only because you selfishly named our group with it!

Mem-cho- Why don't we use that to our advantage? Other groups work desperately to perform on that stage. if we don't do this then what are we practicing for?

Kana sighed.

Kana- You've got a point there

Aoi who had been observing them for a while chimed in.

Aoi- You all make it sound like you're doing this for some kind of honor or legacy. But if you want to perform at the Japan Idol Festival, it's not about just being the successor. It's about proving that you belong. You'll be judged not by the past, but by your own performance

Ruby and Mem-cho fall quiet for a moment, their excitement slightly tempered by Aoi's sharp words. Kana looks up at him.

Ruby- But that's exactly what we want, Aoi-kun! We'll prove ourselves. This is our chance to show everyone that we can stand on our own

Aoi stares at Ruby for a moment, his gaze unreadable. He can't help but let loose of his resistance.

Aoi- Fine. But you better be ready. If you're doing this, you're doing it with everything you've got

Ruby beams, her energy renewed by his reluctant agreement, while Kana crosses her arms, but this time with a hint of acceptance. 

Mem-cho- Yes! That's the spirit! We'll show them what we're made of!

Kana- I still think this is insane, but...I guess we have no choice now. It's part of our job so let's do it

Aoi looks at the group, his usually cold demeanor softening just slightly.

Aoi- Don't get too ahead of yourselves. It's not going to be easy. But you're right. If we don't aim for the top, then we have no business being here

Ruby, Mem-cho, and Kana exchange a look, and while Kana still seems a little uncertain, Ruby's excitement is contagious. Aoi stands a little straighter, his sharp gaze falling back into manager mode. Ruby winks.

Ruby- We've got this, guys!

Mem-cho- Now! We've got to make that decision! I'm talking about that

Ruby- What's that?

Mem-Cho- Who'll be the lead girl of B-Komachi?

Kana- Is that really important? Can't we choose randomly

Mem-cho- The lead girl is the star girl!

Ruby- She can sing and dance very well! She's practically the face of the group.

Neither Aoi nor Kana can understand what they were thinking by raising their hands up like that. 

Ruby- It's the most important position!
