Volume 8.5~ Cast

Aoi was seen scanning his card in the station at a pass-through gate and walking towards a bullet train, entering it, and finding his seat.

Aoi- I'm on

He said to his phone. On the other side of the line was his mom.

Mom- Safe travel. Just call me or Akane if you have any problems there. I'm sorry I couldn't accompany you 

Aoi sighs.

Aoi- For the 10th time, it's okay. I'm old enough

Mom- old or smart, you are still my little boy

Aoi stared at the phone.

Aoi- Uhh...okay?

Mom- Remember to call if you need anything. Don't make me worry more than I already do

Aoi sighs.

Aoi- That's your 2nd time reminding

He says sitting on his seat. A nice window seat.

Aoi- I'll call if anything goes wrong...you know if the whole train derails or something

From the other side of the call, dual voices come.

Mom & Akane- Aoi!

Aoi sighs again.

Aoi- Alright, alright. I'll be fine

The phone line clicks off as his mom says goodbye. He shoved his phone in his pocket and looked out as the train moved. He closed his eyes.

"It's been 3 months...since that day in Miyazaki..."

"After all Ruby's Ai's daughter huh..."

His mind shows a picture of the test reports that returned just 3 weeks ago.

"Now through common sense, if I remove all the old suspected fathers with other hair colors away from the list. I'll end up with at least 15 people...But through more research, I found out of those 15...only 7 had natural blonde hair"

He opened his eyes looking at the zooming scenery going fast outside the train.

"Ruby does resemble Ai but Aqua probably looks like his father...he doesn't have much resemblance to Ai, just visual recognition should be fine...It's gonna be hard to find the father...All the seven are as good-looking as him"

Aoi scratches the tip of his nose.

"For now I'll just focus on this job"

The screen on the train glowed showing the words 'Tokyo to Hokkaido'.

No dark circles, healthy hair, and his biceps looked kind of bigger than before though his body remained lean but only Aoi knew what was beneath the shirt.
