Chapter 7: Ramifications of Past Memories

Previously on The Elemental Ninja of CHS...

You and the girls had just finished cleaning the gym and preparing for the Fall Formal. You get changed into the suit Rarity gave you at home and return to the Carousel Boutique to see the girls in their dresses.

You all arrive at the school in a limo and start enjoying yourselves. Twilight becomes Princess of the Fall Formal then suddenly Snips and Snails kidnap Spike with you, Twilight, and the rest of the girls to follow them.

You followed them outside to the statue where Sunset Shimmer was, as she threatened to destroy the portal. You tried to keep her away from the crown, but she eventually had it in her hands and transformed into a demon who sought revenge and destruction.

You then go on to fight her. You manage to land a few hits on her until she decides to end your friends. When they are hit, a magical aura protects them from the blast, and suddenly, the magic of friendship activates within them. They use it against Demon Sunset to revert her to her normal self and is sorrowful for all that she has done.

(Opening Theme: Weekend Whip)

After everyone had returned inside to the gym, you stayed behind to talk with Sunset Shimmer.

Sunset Shimmer: W-What?

(Y/N): You heard me, I want to know why you came to this world, what motivated you to do what you did, and why you want to seek revenge so badly.

You then decided to sit next to her and comfort her hoping to make her feel better.

(Y/N): When you were consumed by magic and became that... thing, you said that you had a terrible life back in Equestria, is that true?

She flinches at your question before sighing.

Sunset Shimmer: Y-Yes it's true. Before I came into this world, my life in Equestria was never a good one. I assume Twilight told you everything about Equestria and who she truly is?

(Y/N): Yes she did. Do you mind telling me what happened?

Sunset Shimmer: You really want to know?

(Y/N): If it'll help you in any way then I'm willing to do so. I just need to know why you did what you did.

Sunset Shimmer: Fine, it's the least I can do for you.

(Y/N): Very well then, you can start whenever you feel like it.

Sunset took a deep breath and started.

Sunset Shimmer: Back in Equestria, I am a unicorn who was born into nobility. You would think that that would be such a luxurious thing, but it wasn't for me. I... had very neglectful parents.

(Y/N): What?

Sunset Shimmer: They never cared for me unless I did something impressive enough. They made me work vigorously day and night to ensure that I was at the top of all my classes. No matter how much I did, it never impressed them, I just wanted to be loved by them, but I never got such treatment.

You could only stare in shock at what Sunset told you about her parents neglecting and abusing her.

Sunset Shimmer: As I grew up, I discovered that I was naturally talented at magic, it was so impressive that I got enrolled in Princess Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns long before Twilight and became her student. When my parents learned about that, they were very proud of me and I thought things would get better, but how foolish I was to think that.
