Previously on The Elemental Ninja of CHS...
You and the Ninja, along with Clutch Powers, went off to explore the pyramid that he had discovered. You all come across a bunch of rooms with hieroglyphics, boobytraps, and even one with a bunch of sarcophagi. You all then stop at one room in particular with a wall that has tiles on it.
Zane observes this and other hieroglyphics and realizes what would be behind the door. Once the tiled wall was solved, a serpentine known as Aspheera slithers out of her tomb, blocked by the wall. She talks about a treacherous deceiver, attacks you and the Ninja, steals Kai's Elemental Fire Powers, has a personal one-on-one against you, with you losing, and she locks you and the Ninja in her pyramid.
Meanwhile, in Ninjago City, a boy named Nelson is preparing for his new job as a paperboy, delivering newspapers to the citizens of Ninjago City. In contrast, a girl named Antonia guides him. In another part, your girlfriends were walking around when Elemental Cobras started attacking them and other civilians, prompting them, along with P.I.X.A.L., to protect as many citizens as they could while also fighting off the snakes.
Nelson and Antonia swerve around the cobras while delivering newspapers to other civilians. While doing so, they come across Clutch Powers, who tells the two about you and the Ninja being trapped in the pyramid. After he was escorted to the hospital, Nelson and Antonia biked around the city to reach the monastery and deliver the message to Master Wu. Once done, Wu contacts P.I.X.A.L. about it, and she lets your girlfriends know as they continue to fight for the city.

While you and the Ninja were chained to the wall, with you and Kai still unconscious, Jay was reading the Boobytraps and How to Survive Them book he picked up from the skeleton earlier.
Jay: That Clutch Powers guy might have run off to save himself, stranding us here, but I have to admit: his book is pretty good!
Just then, a rumble can be heard from outside as lava continues pouring down the pyramid.
Jay: It has a section for everything. Even "What To Do When All Is Lost."
He tells you and the Ninja. Rumbling then continues, and a rock falls onto the ground.
Jay: He recommends vocal exercises, like: "Brobrogoo-goo!". Brobrogoo-goo!
Lloyd: How is saying a bunch of nonsense possibly going to help us?
He asks Jay.
Jay: It says that it keeps you calm by relaxing your face. Brobrogoo-goo!
He says in a low tone as he continues saying "Brobrogoo-goo."
Zane: Perhaps Clutch didn't abandon us. Perhaps he went to seek help.
Nya: Sure! And maybe the evil snake queen we just accidentally released from an ancient tomb is headed to Ninjago City for some sightseeing!
She says sarcastically.
Zane: I find that highly unlikely.
He said, not understanding Nya's sarcasm.
Nya: We need to update your sarcasm circuits, Zane. If we get out of here.
Cole: We wouldn't even be hanging here if Jay hadn't opened that crypt!
