Previously on The Elemental Ninja of CHS...
You and the Ninja prepare to head off for your quest. P.I.X.A.L. introduces you all to a secret base she had been working on, along with some vehicles she had built for all of you. You all then drive off to the Desert of Doom to find the pyramid you learned about on the news report.
During your lunch break, a giant scarab beetle creature rises to attack you all. You all managed to outdrive him in the desert, but now you were all sitting on a cluster of rocks, with your vehicles left in a no-good condition.
Zane discovers that the beetle had swallowed the Land Bounty's inverter, and that one of you would have to go inside the beetle's stomach to retrieve it. Zane ended up being the one to be ingested and was able to recover the inverter. Afterwards, he fixes the Land Bounty, and you are all able to drive off to the pyramid that Clutch Powers couldn't.
(Opening Theme: Wicked Whip)
A news broadcast starts with Gayle Gossip on camera.
Gayle: This is Gayle Gossip from the desert, where a mysterious pyramid has been discovered. What's inside? Nobody knows. But at this moment, the Ninja have arrived and are preparing to enter the pyramid with famed explorer, Clutch Powers.
The camera shows a tent set up next to the pyramid. Inside, you and the Ninja talk with Clutch Powers, trying to convince him to go with you inside the pyramid. Clutch is not so keen and just stares at you all while holding his book, tossing it aside, and drinking his juice.
Zane: Your assistance will be very helpful.
Clutch Powers: Nope. No way. Nein, danke.
Lloyd: But nobody knows what's inside. There could be valuable historical relics.
Kai: Treasures!
Jay: Gold! And diamonds!
Clutch continues drinking his juice and shrugs.
Zane: You are the foremost expert on ancient structures and your book, Booby Traps and How to Survive Them, is considered a seminal work.
Clutch then stops drinking his juice for a moment.
Clutch Powers: Flattered! But still no.
He continues drinking the juice.
Nya: Professor, isn't there anything we can do to convince you?
(Y/N): Seriously, what is going to take for you to get up and actually do your job?
Just then, Dwayne, Clutch's intern, shows up.
Dwayne: Professor Powers! There's a call for you!
He says as he holds out his cell phone.
Clutch Powers: Now, Dwayne. I told you I don't want to be disturbed.
Dwayne: But it's...The Explorer's Club!
This surprises Clutch as he throws his juice away.
Clutch Powers: W-What? Give me that!
He snatches Dwayne's phone and answers the call.
Clutch Powers: Ahem. This is Professor Powers.
On the other end of the phone is the manager of the Explorer's Club.
