sadie sighed as she looked at pagies comment once more. why was she acting like she was the one who got hurt? she was allowed to move on, it had been a month of their breakup, couldn't she just let her live?
sadie thought back to her weekend in iowa. it was something she wouldn't forget, may have been because of kate or maybe it was because she got away from uconn. she was in fresh air, where something didn't linger in the shadows every time she walked.
her date was different. it wasn't like the typical dates where the guys talked about themselves and didn't let her have a moment. kate let her talk, she let her breathe. her date wasn't paige.
sadie hated how her mind always thought back to paige. comparing everything she did with someone, to her time with paige.
the only thing she dreaded was walking through those gym doors and seeing the blonde. although the two had broke up, she was still a photographer. she hated how much tension would be in the room, and she knew that paige would say something to her about kate.
and she did.
sadie walked into the gym with her nerves eating her alive. it was worse than her first day, she didn't know how to act, it was like a part of her didn't belong there anymore. she was there as a photographer now and nothing more.
the sound of shoes squeaking across the floor pulled sadie out of her trance. the girl had been so focused on calming her nerves she didn't notice the brunette walking up to her.
sadie let a smile pull at her lips when she took notice of the brunette. nika immediately pulled the girl into a hug.
"how are you?" nika asked pulling back from the hug. sadie hadn't been in touch with the girls recently because she felt out of place with them. paige was the reason they all became friends, it's like a part of her couldn't be friends with them without paige.
"im okay, my nerves are getting to me though." sadie sighed as she pulled her camera to the front of her. the girl felt eyes on her but she didn't need to look up to know who they belonged to. nika looked behind her, sensing the blonde in the back somewhere.
"ignore her, she's all pissy just because your date with kate. also dude? how did it go?" nika asked grabbing onto the girls arm. sadie smiled as the thought back to the date.
"it was good. she was different, but i told her we couldn't be anything. as much as i hate it i still want paige." sadie said letting her smile fall a little.
every time when sadie saw someone or met someone, the blonde made her way back into the girls mind. she absolutely hated it. she just wanted it to go away, but love as strong as their, it never went away.
looking through her camera roll was absolute torture. all the memories of her paige through the months. from the good to the bad. the funny thing is, in the photos you never would have guessed paige would have ended it.
the videos hurt worse. the laughter between the two sounded so pure, so love able. sadie kept trying to delete the photos and videos, but she couldn't. she couldn't get rid of a part of her that still had so much love.
the sound of a loud knock made sadie jump. the girl groaned before walking over towards the door to open it. at times like this, she wish she checked who it was before opening it.
paige bueckers.
"what do you want?" sadie said with a cold tone. sadie felt like she had to put a front in front of paige. she couldn't let paige see that she would crumble at the touch of her.
"i want to talk." paige said. sadie slightly scoffed walking into her apartment, letting the blonde follow after her.
"look i know you're upset and mad." paige started but was quickly stopped by sadie walking up to her.
"like hell im upset and mad paige. you broke up with me out of nowhere and expected me to be okay with it? yeah cause im totally fine with getting dumped without an explanation." sadie scoffed as she threw her arms up in the air.
"okay i know there isn't any good reason as to why i broke up with you. part of me felt like i had to run away from something that was so good to me to focus on basketball. and obviously that was proven wrong. sadie no matter if you're in my life as a girlfriend or just a friend, it feels right. the day after we broke up, ive never felt so empty. i need you in my life." paige sighed out. the look in sadies eyes, was the same look she saw when they broke up.
"paige, i understand you. i really do. i know what it feels like to run away from things. you think i didn't get those thoughts when we were together? i did. i got them all the time, but i didn't listen to them. i let you in my space, even though my head kept telling me not to, but im glad i did. you opened a new view for me. since my last relationship, you've gave me hope paige. and as much as i hate to admit it right now considering im the one who's supposed to be mad at you, im in love with you paige bueckers, and that's hard to do." sadie sighed out, looking at the ground.
"i love you sadie brown. i really do." paige breathed out. the tension in the room was thick. sadie felt like she couldn't move, her body was stuck but this time she was okay with it.
"sadie.." paige slightly whispered. the two girls were standing close with only an inch away from each other. sadie looked up and was met with the ice blue eyes she missed looking into hers.
"don't make me regret this bueckers." sadie said. her moments were quick. the blonde felt the lips of sadie on hers. paiges hands immediately found the girls waist as sadies hands slid behind the blondes neck.
everything was the same as before. but maybe this time it would be even better. maybe this time their love could work out.
