[A/N: Char won't give it yet, so I'm taking matters into my own hands. :)]
Prompt: Mia and Charlotte finally get married.
The sun was starting to set, casting a warm golden glow across the small garden where Mia and Charlotte stood, facing each other. The simple ceremony took place in a cozy backyard, with a few strings of twinkling fairy lights adding a touch of magic to the evening air. The weather was perfect—a gentle breeze rustling the trees as birds chirped softly in the distance.
Charlotte’s daughters, Emma and Lily, were in the front row of seats, giggling as they whispered to each other about their duties as flower girls. They wore small, white dresses with delicate ribbons in their hair, each holding a basket filled with petals that they’d scatter as they walked down the aisle. Autumn, standing beside Mia as her maid of honor, watched with a soft smile on her face, fighting back the emotions bubbling up in her chest. Beside Char, Marjorie stood as her maid of honor, trying not to act too tough but clearly wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.
Reece stood as Mia’s best man, his usual playful grin softened by the beauty of the moment. He and the others had been there for so much of their journey, and now they were all gathered to witness this beautiful moment, the culmination of years of growth and change for both Mia and Charlotte.
The soft hum of the guests’ quiet chatter settled when the officiant, a family friend, signaled for the ceremony to begin. Autumn took Mia’s hand gently, giving it a reassuring squeeze as they walked forward. Char smiled nervously as she held the bouquet, her daughters trailing behind her, giggling as they threw their petals to the ground.
Finally, they reached the altar. The soft rustle of the wind seemed to make the world pause, everything falling into perfect stillness as Charlotte looked into Mia’s eyes.
“I never thought I’d be standing here,” Mia started, her voice trembling slightly but full of love, “but here I am, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. When I first met you, I was a mess. I was pushing people away, holding onto my anger, my past. But you, Char…” Mia smiled softly, tears forming in her eyes, “You loved me, even when I didn’t know how to love myself. You showed me that I could be better, that I could be someone worth loving. And here I am, standing before you, promising to be yours, to love you—no matter what life throws our way.”
Charlotte reached for Mia’s hands, the emotions evident in her gentle smile. “You’ve made me stronger, Mia. You’ve taught me what it means to fight for love, to never give up. When we first started this journey, I never imagined I’d find someone who made me feel this safe, this at home. With you, I’ve found the love I didn’t know I needed. You make me want to be the best version of myself, not just for me, but for us. I promise to love you, to laugh with you, to support you, and to grow with you, every single day.”
The officiant smiled warmly, watching the pair with fondness. “Mia, Charlotte, you’ve both shared beautiful words, and now, with the power vested in me, I am honored to pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss each other.”
Mia’s eyes lit up as she pulled Charlotte in for a soft, lingering kiss, the crowd erupting into applause and cheers. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses filled the air as they stood together, their arms wrapped around each other.
Later, after the vows had been exchanged and the ceremony wrapped up, everyone gathered around a long table, filled with simple but delicious food—platters of roasted vegetables, grilled chicken, and fresh salad. Autumn sat beside Mia, her arm around her shoulder, while Charlotte laughed with Marjorie and the girls. Mia and Autumn shared a private conversation, reminiscing about their childhood, and Char’s daughters stole the spotlight by entertaining the guests with their silly antics.
The evening carried on with a sense of warmth and comfort, everyone reveling in the love that surrounded them, knowing they were witnessing something truly special.
