(Y/n's Pov)

I took a breath as I finished getting dressed in my uniform, thanking my lucky Star's Cross Academy's Headmaster/my Adopted father that he let me wear pants rather than a skirt.

Quickly brushing my hair as my eyes landed on the Gun Box.

There was a reason parents instructed their children to run away from danger and let the adults handle it.
No one that young should have seen, let alone done what I did, to not only protect myself, but my friend Zero and his family.
But then again, what choice did I have?

(Flashback) * 13 years ago *

No help was coming for the Kiryu's.
No human can match the pace/speed of the vampire that attacked us.
I woken to the sense of dread in my heart & stomach, the feeling of danger present in the night's atmosphere.

'A vampire's here.
Zero!
Ichiro!
Mr. and Ms. Kiryu!'.
I bolted out of the guest room bed grabbing the Marine standard issue crowbar blade that my father gave me to fiddle wood, (before I came to this strange world) I placed under my pillow.
So I could easily grab it and be ready for situations just like this.

I went to the nightstand and pulled a drawer that held garlic.
I closed my eyes and thought before consuming it, ignoring the repulsive and spicy taste on my tongue.

'Over the lips & past the gums.
Look out stomach, here it comes'.

I swallowed and fought against the urge to puke as I put on my jacket.
My consciousness reminds me that my favorite cup lid is in my right pocket and exit my room, then snuck down the stairs quietly.
Following the instincts the Kiryu's taught me to listen to.

Then, I saw her in the polar.
I put my pointer finger to my lips when mine and Zero's eyes meant when my friend spotted me.
I then made the motion of my hand moving left and right across my throat repeatedly.

I saw the cup I planned to use as my dinner drinking cup, but I forgot to grab it and pour juice into it.
'Looks like I placed it on one of the furniture storage dressers'.
My conscience and Instincts already know what I needed to do before I did.

I quickly grabbed the cup as the woman sniffed the air, that's when I noticed her face was still buried in Zero's neck.
She hasn't seen me yet and my heart rate picking up once I realized what was going on and what she was doing to Zero.

I took a deep breath, my mind being absent from my body in order to deal with what I was going to do.

I raised my right hand holding the blade and said as I ran full boar to her yelling.
"Leave him alone"!
The blade sliced through the woman's face like Butter and her blood splattered over me and landed in the cup when I kneeled in front of her.
After the cup was full of her blood, I quickly put the lid on.
The woman's face was the picture of shock As she detached her mouth from Zero's neck.
Letting him go and fall back, I then looped Zero's arm across my shoulders.
I then said, rushed and scared about the woman healing up and attacking me at any moment, unable to defend myself at the moment or have help from Zero because he was in shock.
My eyes landed on the bodies of his and Ichiro's parents.
I swallowed past my fear as I helped him stand up.
"Zero, come on!
Get up!
We have to get out of here"!!
He slowly got up and we then bolted out of the house and into the cold snowy night.
