I'm not going anywhere

Ayla looked up at her, meeting her gaze. "I know," she whispered. "I just... I just wanted to be with you, that's all."

Selene's eyes softened, and she leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to Ayla's forehead. "We'll have time," she promised. "I'm not going anywhere."

Ayla's words hung in the air, soft yet powerful. Selene looked at her, her heart skipping a beat. There was something in Ayla's eyes—a vulnerability, a truth—that made her chest tighten with an overwhelming feeling.

Selene took a deep breath, her voice steady but filled with warmth. "I love you too, Ayla," she whispered, as if saying it aloud made it even more real. "More than I ever thought I could."

They sat there, the quiet between them speaking volumes. In that moment, nothing else mattered. Just the two of them, their hearts aligned.

Selene's phone buzzed insistently in her pocket, shattering the serene moment between them.

She sighed, pulling it out and glancing at the screen. It was Leo. Her brow furrowed slightly as she answered.

"Leo," Selene said curtly, her tone shifting immediately to one of focus. "What's going on?"

On the other end, Leo's voice was tense but steady. "I've been digging, like you asked. There's movement. The people tied to my parents... and possibly to yours... they're making moves. I have locations, names. If we act fast, we can get answers—and justice."

Selene's expression darkened, her jaw tightening as she absorbed his words. Her eyes flicked to Ayla, who was watching her with curiosity mixed with concern. "Send me everything," Selene instructed. "We'll coordinate from here."

Ending the call, Selene turned to Ayla, her resolve clear in her expression. "Looks like it's time to put some pieces together," she said. "Leo found a lead on the people who might have been responsible for my parents' deaths... and his."

Ayla sat up straighter, her concern deepening. "You're going after them, aren't you?"

Selene nodded, already calculating their next steps. "Yes. But this isn't just about me. It's about Leo, and maybe even clearing up some of the shadows around you too. If these people are dangerous, they're not going to stop until someone makes them."

Ayla hesitated for a moment before nodding, determination flashing in her eyes. "Then I'm coming with you."

Selene paused, studying Ayla carefully. "This isn't going to be safe. There's no room for hesitation or doubt."

Ayla stood, her expression firm. "You think I haven't faced danger before? I'm not letting you do this alone, Selene."

Selene's lips curved into a small, approving smile, though her eyes still carried a hint of worry. "Alright then," she said, moving toward the closet and tossing Ayla her jacket. "Get ready. We're heading out as soon as we have the details."

Ayla caught the jacket and quickly got to her feet. "Let's do this," she said, her voice steady and confident.

Selene smirked, a flicker of pride in her expression. "That's my little fox," she murmured before turning back to grab her gear.

"Time to finish what was started."

Selene got ready in record time, slipping into a black tactical jacket and jeans, her boots laced tight for action.

Ayla followed her, equally determined, dressed in a sleek, dark outfit that allowed her to move freely.

They made their way to the nearby room where Leo was waiting, pacing nervously, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his hoodie.
