But before reinforcements could enter, Ayla, her heart racing, took action. She sprinted to the side, using the distraction from the gunfire to close the distance to Viviana. In a split second, she tackled her, knocking the older woman to the ground and disarming her.

Viviana was a trained fighter, though, and kicked Ayla off her. "You'll regret that," she hissed, but Ayla was already back on her feet, moving with the grace and speed of someone who'd been pushed to their limit.

Meanwhile, Selene's grip on Alessandro tightened as she whispered in his ear, "It's over." She threw him against the nearest wall with brutal force, knocking the wind out of him. He crumpled to the ground, groaning in pain but unable to get up.

"Go!" Leo yelled. "We have no time."

The room was chaos, but they had control now. Selene, blood pumping through her veins, rushed to the others, checking their positions. "We need to leave now, or we're all dead."

Ayla, gasping for breath, nodded, her adrenaline still surging. "Right behind you."

As Selene led them out of the room, the sound of sirens started to wail in the distance. "The task force will be here soon," Nico warned, his voice tense. "We need to move fast."

As the final chaos of the gunfight settled, the echoes of distant sirens grew louder, signalling that reinforcements would soon be arriving. Selene, Ayla, Leo, Nico, and Giovanni stood in the midst of the wreckage, the air thick with smoke and the pungent scent of gunpowder.

Viviana and Alessandro Moretti lay on the cold marble floor, their bodies battered and bloodied, but they were not dead yet. Selene walked toward them with a deliberate pace, her cold, determined gaze never leaving their battered forms. Ayla followed closely behind, her expression somber.

"Finish it," Leo murmured under his breath, his voice edged with the weight of everything they had been through, everything they had lost. His eyes flickered between Viviana and Alessandro.

Selene kneeled down beside Alessandro, her hand gently touching his chin, lifting his head to meet her gaze. "You betrayed me. You betrayed us," she whispered. Alessandro coughed, blood spattering from his mouth, but he managed to laugh weakly.

"You think you're... any better?" he spat, his voice gravelly and hoarse. "You're just like us... you'll always be a monster."

Selene didn't flinch. "I'm not the one who made the choice to turn innocent lives into nothing but tools for power." She paused, her gaze icy as she reached for her gun. "And I'm not the one who chose to kill my own family."

Without a second thought, she pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced Alessandro's forehead, silencing him forever. His body slumped lifeless, his last breath escaping in a faint rasp.

Ayla watched quietly, her hand gripping her own gun tightly. She had already put Viviana in her sights. The woman had been the mastermind behind so much of their pain—Ayla's pain, Leo's pain, Selene's.

Viviana, her breath shallow, managed to lift her head and lock eyes with Ayla, her lips curling into a cruel, mocking smile. "You... think... you've won?" she rasped, her voice broken, but defiant. "The world is bigger than you. You can't stop... everything."

Ayla's expression hardened, and with a steady hand, she raised her gun. "No, Viviana. You and your husband were the ones who started this war. But you're not going to survive it."

In one clean, decisive motion, Ayla pulled the trigger, ending Viviana's life with the same cold finality as her husband's. Her body went limp, her eyes wide in disbelief, as she collapsed onto the cold floor.
