I Choose You

The woman who now stood beside her, the one she had come to love, had once been a tool for the very people they were fighting against.

But in that moment, Ayla didn't see a woman who had once been part of something dark.

She saw someone who had escaped the shadows, someone who had fought her way to the light.

"That's how you know how to find them?" Ayla asked softly, her eyes filled with understanding. "Because you were one of them?"

Selene nodded, her expression hardening.

"I know their moves. I know their methods. And I know their weaknesses," she said, her voice becoming more intense. "They think they're untouchable, but they're not. And I'll make sure Leo isn't their next victim."

Ayla stood silently for a moment, processing everything. The past that Selene had hidden from her, the things she had done—there was so much she didn't know. But it didn't matter. Not now.

"I trust you," Ayla said quietly, her voice firm. "I trust you with this. And with Leo. Let's end this, together."

Selene's gaze softened for a moment, and she gave a small, almost imperceptible nod.

Then, without another word, she motioned for them to follow her as they moved toward the entrance of the warehouse.

The task force was about to learn the hard way that Selene Moretti was no one's weapon anymore.

She was a force to be reckoned with, and anyone who stood in her way was about to feel the consequences.

The Lamborghini screeched to a halt, the tires leaving streaks on the pavement as Selene cut the engine.

She grabbed her weapon, her eyes steely with focus, and motioned for Ayla and Amos to stay close.

They moved swiftly toward the warehouse, their footsteps silent, the adrenaline rushing through their veins.

The task force had Leo—and if Selene had anything to say about it, they wouldn't get away with it.

As Selene, Ayla, and Amos crept into the dimly lit warehouse, the air was thick with tension.

The sound of their footsteps was muffled by the silence of the vast space, their shadows stretching long across the cold concrete floor. Selene's senses were on high alert, her every muscle primed for action.

She could feel the weight of the mission pressing down on her, but she remained focused.

They moved deeper into the warehouse, carefully avoiding any noise that might alert the task force. Suddenly, the faint sound of muffled voices reached their ears.

Selene signalled for them to stop and crouched low, peeking around the corner of a large stack of crates.

Two men, both clearly armed, were standing guard. They were talking to each other in low voices, their backs turned toward Selene and the others.

It was the perfect opportunity.

Without a word, Selene silently stepped forward, her movements graceful and deadly.

She reached for the two nearest crates and pushed them with precision, causing a soft thud that distracted the thugs for just a split second. That was all she needed.

Before the men could react, Selene launched herself into the air, her legs kicking out with precision.

Her right leg connected with the first thug's chest, knocking him back against the crates with a sickening thud.
