"Everything on track, Victor?" Selene asked, her voice low, but carrying the weight of authority.

"Of course," Victor replied, his dark eyes scanning the room. "Just keeping an eye on things. Nothing too concerning yet, but there's always someone looking to make a name for themselves."

Selene nodded, her gaze flicking to the others in the group.

Among them was Marco Falcone, a mid-level associate with an aggressive approach to business. He was known for his sharp wit and even sharper methods when it came to settling disputes.

His smile when he saw her was a little too eager for Selene's taste.

"Miss Moretti," Marco greeted her with a half bow. "It's an honor to see you. I was just telling the others that the negotiation I set up in Sicily is running ahead of schedule."

Selene gave him a polite smile, but there was an edge to her voice as she replied. "I don't care about schedules, Marco. I care about results. You'd better be certain the deal goes smoothly. Failure isn't an option."

Marco quickly nodded, sensing the shift in her tone. "Of course, Miss Moretti. You can count on it."

Behind him, Luca D'Angelo, a quiet, calculating man with an eye for strategy, was standing a little off to the side, observing.

His presence was always understated, yet he commanded respect without needing to say much. He had been Selene's partner in the Moretti family's most dangerous, covert operations for years.

He was a master of information, capable of tracking every move of their enemies.

"I've heard some interesting reports about the new government task force," Luca said, his voice calm but with a hint of intrigue.

"There's a leak somewhere, but I haven't been able to pinpoint who's behind it. We may need to handle that sooner rather than later."

Selene considered his words carefully, her fingers tapping lightly against the glass of her wine.

"Keep me updated. I want to know the moment you have anything concrete."

Finally, standing a little more confidently beside Marco was Elena Rossi, a recently promoted associate who had proven herself to be both intelligent and resourceful, though she still had to prove her loyalty. Elena was a woman who didn't hesitate to step into the more ruthless side of the business when necessary, which was something Selene appreciated.

"Everything under control here, Elena?" Selene asked, her gaze shifting to the woman.

"Yes, Miss Moretti. We're finalizing some of the details for the upcoming shipment," Elena replied. "I've also set up a meeting with some of the higher-ups in the transport network, so we should be in a good position to expand our operations in the coming weeks."

"Good," Selene said, her tone slightly approving. "Make sure nothing goes wrong. If anything does, I'll know who to hold accountable."

There was a moment of silence as everyone absorbed her words, but before anyone could speak, a voice broke through from the back of the group.

"Miss Moretti or should I say Selene," a man called from across the room. Giovanni Moretti, her older brother, stepped forward, his appearance imposing as always. While his loyalty was unquestioned, his methods were often more brutal and less refined than Selene's.

He gave her a short nod of acknowledgment before addressing her more directly. "You might want to talk with Andreas Santi. He has some new information that could change our position with the task force."
