I stood in the corner of the room and zoned put while my uncle did a few technical things. I couldn't help but think about my parents. Losing them was still hard on me but I wasn't going to show it so much because I'm not the only person who has lost their parents. I want to curl up into a ball and stay that way until I start feeling a little bit better but I won't. There are people who need me to be strong. My aunt and uncle have their own children to worry about, so they can't be worried about me all the time.

I looked up suddenly when I heard Conor start to sing. I had heard and seen his covers on YouTube but that's it. Hearing like this, he really had an amazing voice.

"Ok, we're ready to begin. What do you want to start with?" My uncle asked him without looking up from the technical equipment.

"I'll start with Just In Case as a warm up, and we'll go from there" Conor said through the microphone in the room. The music started playing and Conor started singing. I knew I was staring at him, but I couldn't look away. It came to the chorus and he looked up at me, his blue eyes looking into my brown eyes. I felt the butterflies, I felt my cheeks start to go red and I looked down at my feet. I have always been a bit shy, and now with Conor it's worse. I'm not so good with people anymore, not like I used to be.

"Alright that was great, now let's get down to the real stuff, we don't have a lot of time today" I heard my uncle say. "Kate?"

"Yeah" I said as I looked up at him.

"Do you mind getting me a coffee? Black, one sugar" He asked me, while looking down at his phone. .

"Yeah ok" I mumbled and left the room. I looked at Conor before leaving and saw that he was looking at me. Maybe I should have asked if he wanted something...

My uncle asked me to get him a coffee but I had no idea where to get that. Was there a kitchen somewhere? A coffee machine? Was I supposed to go to a coffee shop somewhere? I walked around for half an hour, in circles. I looked outside for any coffee shops nearby but there weren't any. Why is so hard for me to get a simple cup of coffee? Or find a room that looks like a kitchen? Then again this place is a bit big. There was nobody around to ask.

"Whoah there" A guy said as I turned around into him.

"I'm so sorry" I said as I looked up to his face. He was tall, but I'm also short, always have been, My head is in line with his chest. He had his hands on my shoulders to steady me.

"No worries" He said as he took his hands off my shoulders. He looked around my age, maybe a little bit older. He had short, dark brown hair and greenish-blueish eyes. He was good looking actually. "You look lost" He said with a smile. Atleast he was nice about me almost bashing into him.

"I am" I said as I felt my cheeks go red.

"What are you looking for?" He asked me kindly.

"A kitchen or something. Anywhere that I can get coffee" I said to him.

"Two floors up, five doors down, to your left and then into another room to your right" He said while using his hands to talk. I do that as well. I looked at him a bit confused, pointing up while trying to remember what he said.

"Haha I'll show" He said as he smiled down to me.

"That would be great, thanx" I said and let out a sigh.

"Don't worry about it, this place can be confusing. I've been working here for a while now and I still get confused. I haven't seen you around before" He said to me as he started walking to the elevator down the hall and I followed him.

"Just visiting. My uncle works here and he dragged me here with him today" I said as I walked up next to him.

"Oh ok. Who's your uncle?" He asked me as he stood in front of the elevator, waiting.

"Ben Evans"

"Ben is your uncle? That guy is a genius with what he does. Do you want to do what he does?" He asked me as he stepped into the elevator and pushed the button for the third floor. I made a mental note to remember that's what floor the kitchen is on.

"Not really. I don't know what I want to do" I said as I followed him in and we went up.

"Me to, just working here while I figure it out. I'm Eddie by the way" He said as he looked over at me and winked. I looked at him and then looked away as I felt my cheeks start to go red. He really was cute and I felt weird talking to him. But he gave me idea, to work here while I also figure out what I want to do. My uncle comes here anyway and I'm sure he'll give me a job. And I don't think he wants me sitting around at the house all day.

We arrived on the third floor and I followed him as he walked five doors down the hall, just like he said.

"Here you go. Just go right into that door over there, the coffee machine is on the counter as you walk in, it's quite big so you shouldn't miss it" He said as he pointed to the door on the right, the one I was supposed to go through.

"Thank you. I would have been walking around, lost, for I don't even know how long" I said to him and smiled a little.

"No problem"

"Oh, I'm Kate by the way"

"I'll see you around Kate" He winked at me again and  turned to go back to the elevator.

I walked into the door that he said I must go through, while smiling to myself and blushing. I realized what I was doing and mentally scolded myself. I probably won't see him again anyway and he was just being nice.

"Don't read into it too much Kate" I mumbled to myself. I found the coffee machine, finally, and made my uncle the coffee like he wanted it. Well, I don't know if he wants it anymore, it's been a while from when he asked me to get him coffee, but I made it anyway and managed to find my way back without getting lost.
