Conor had made a full recovery and was back at home spending time with his family and doing what he loves. I was there when he left the hospital but I haven't seen him for an few days because I thought I'd give him time to get back into things and spend time with his family. I was hoping he and I would get back to normal but we haven't talked much besides in the hospital and then all I cared about was him getting better. Just as I sat on my bed, thinking about Conor my phone starting buzzing and I saw it was a message from him.

*Missing you xx. Feel like coming over for dinner tonight?* He asked and I replied immediately, smiling like an idiot to myself.

*Sounds great xx. See you around 6?* I replied.

*Great* He sent and I set my phone back down on the table.

It was when Conor sent the message so there was still a long time before it was time for me to get ready. The day went by slowly, with me walking around the house trying to pass the time. Finally it was time to get ready and before I knew it, it was time for me to go. Even though I had met Conor's family at the hospital, I was still nervous to go to dinner with him and his family because now we're meeting under better circumstances and they don't have to be worrying about Conor.

"Kate" Conor exclaimed as he opened the door and took me in his arms for a hug. We stood there for a while, in each others arms. I loved the way he smelled and how he was always warm. I would always feel safe and loved in his arms. He gave me a kiss on the lips before taking my hand and leading me inside to where his parents and Anna, his sister, were sitting around a beautifully laid table. His mom and dad stood up as soon as I entered the room. They had smiles on their faces and warm looks in their eyes. They looked way less stressed and happy and it made me smile as I saw them.

"Great to see you again Kate, and I'm especially glad that we're meeting under better circumstances this time. You know my husband Gary, my son Jack and my daughter Anna" Conor's mother said as she looked at each of them.

His father and brother gave me a polite nod and his mother gave me a hug. I said hello as I sat down inbetween Anna and Conor.

"Thank you for inviting me Mrs Maynard" I said to her politely as I pulled my chair in and got comfortable.

"Please, call me Helen and it's my pleasure. I'll be right back with dinner" She sweetly and Conorngot up to help her. They arrived back a few seconds later with plates in hand and it looked and smelled delicious even though it was simply spaghetti and meatballs. I had always eaten spaghetti by cutting it up into little pieces first but nobody said anything. Most people thought it weird. Conversation started a few minutes into dinner with Conor's parents asking me questions about myself, like what I liked and what I plan to do later in the year or next year, although not once did they ask why I had moved here which was the question I was dreading. I don't think Conor told them exactly what happened because he wouldn't do that but maybe he told them not to ask for personal reasons. I wasn't complaining though, I was glad they didn't ask because it was a question I really didn't want to answer.

Conor's parents and his brother and sister were really great. They made me feel extremely welcome and I was so glad for coming to dinner. Gary started making bad jokes but I laughed anyway, he seemed like a really great dad. Anna was the cutest and I know we're going to be good friends. I had always been a people person and got along with almost everyone. I had lost a bit of that confidence and good people skills after the accident but I was slowly getting it all back, with the help of Conor.

After chocolate cake for dessert, we all sat in the living room for a little but before it was time for me to go.

"So soon?" Helen said as stood up to leave.

"I'm afraid so. But I had a great time and thank you so much for dinner, it was amazing." I said and I meant it. It felt good to enjoy a dinner with Conor's family and not have to worry about anything for a little while.

"I'm glad you had a good time dear, and you are welcome back anytime. And I hope that time is soon" Helen said and I moved over to give her a hug. Gary also held his arms out for a hug and I hugged him back.

"Goodnight" A sleepy Anna said as she made her way upstairs to go to bed. Jack waved to me as Conor walked me to the door. Conor grabbed my wrist and turned me around as I was about to get into the car.

"I care about you so much Kate and I'm sorry about not making that clear before. I want you to be mine, so will you?" He asked with puppy dog eyes that I couldn't resist. I'm sure I was blushing madly. I grabbed Conor's face and pulled it closer to mine, pressing my lips against his. I was hoping he would realize that was my yes. He broke away a little while later and he had a huge grin on his face.

"I'll take that as a yes" He said. I smiled at him, pecking him in the cheek, before getting into the car and making my way home.

Things were getting back to normal again and I just hope they stay that way. Conor, Uncle Ben, Liz, my cousins, they all mean so much to me and I couldn't bare to lose them.
