Why didn't you tell us?!

How could you?!

Traitor!

I don't want to be your friend anymore!

You lied to us!

Amai bolted up from her bed in the middle of the night, terrified from the nightmare she had. The voices of the girls rang in her ears, all screaming at her from the reveal of her secret. Her biggest fear had found its way into her dreams for a little while now, though they weren't as bad as this one. She shook her head in attempt to erase the dream from her memory. As she did, light meows left her lips.

Meows... she stopped herself. "It couldn't be..."

But it was. She looked in the mirror and, unfortunately, found herself in cat form once more.

"You've got to be kidding! How?!"

Of course, she could go to her parents. She probably should have, but for some reason, she didn't. She felt too restless, not going to be able to sleep again if she transformed. Plus she didn't want to burden So instead she climbed out her window and headed down the sidewalk, wandering through the night.

"I can go back later, but right now I can't. I need to clear my mind." She wasn't sure of how long she walked for, but soon she began to feel sleepy. She realized then that she was way too far from home. "Where am I?" She jumped out of the way of a coming motorcycle, leaping into an alley.

"I'm so tired. I can't go on." Giving in to exhaustion, Amai curled up on the cold ground and fell asleep.

The next morning, Amai walked through town with weary steps. She was still so tired from the previous night. "It's going to take forever to get back home, even longer if Mom and Dad go out looking for me. I can't wander through the whole city." Tears gathered in her eyes. "What do I do?"

"The Mew Mews are fighting something at Tokyo Tower!"

A girl's voice caught Amai's attention. She lifted her paw to listen.

"I wanna go see!"

"Wait, the white one's not there."

The two voices sounded very familiar, and when Amai spun around she saw...

"Miwa and Moe!"

The two girls were looking at Moe's phone. Needing to see what they were talking about, Amai jumped onto Moe's shoulder and looked at the screen, ignoring their surprise at her sudden entrance. A live video of a large insect Chimera Animal by Tokyo Tower was playing, all the other Mew Mews fighting it and other ones, though more kept coming at them.

"Everyone's fighting!"

The girls were getting beat down hard, their attacks doing very little on the monsters.

"They're in trouble! I have to get there!"

She flew off Moe's shoulder and climbed onto a rooftop. There she could see the tower a fair distance away, but close enough where she could get there in time.

"I can't do anything since I'm a cat, but I'll figure something out!"

Running down the street she entered an alley as a shortcut. Unfortunately for her, an unpleasant figure was there.

"So we meet again."

The fat, flirty cat from before. Amai freaked out. He made a comment about them being destined before puckering his lips for a kiss. Amai ran and used his head to jump up, though his paw grasped her back leg. She struggled to get away.

Suddenly she was set free, falling onto the ground. A cat her size was her savior, a grey feline with an orange scarf tied around its neck.

"Now's your chance! Run!"

Amai looked at him amazed. "Did he just save me?!" The yellow cat was mad at the newcomer, pulling him off and throwing him at Amai. The aim sent him at her lips, a short kiss happening. It caused the girl to turn back into herself, the yellow cat fleeing in fear.

Amai, kneeling on the ground, had a moment to marvel at what had happened before the grey cat ran off. "Hey, wait!" It ignored her and disappeared. Amai watched it go, then thought about the small kiss that changed her back. It made her remember what her parents said when they kissed her head before.

"So maybe it's true. If I kiss someone or receive a kiss, I'll turn back."

She looked happy at that but then went serious. "Right, I need to go!"

Turning a sharp corner out of the alley, she ran hard into someone. "Ow, dammit..."

"Rubbing her head, Amai saw Ryou right in front of her wincing. "Ryou? What are you doing here?"

The boy stared at her, took a deep breath and...

"I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU! WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT KIND OF MESS IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW?! THERE'S A BIG CACOON AT TOKYO TOWER AND-"

He ranted on for about another minute, his yells ringing in Amai's ears. Boy, he was mad. By the time he'd finished, they both were taking large breaths, him from saying all that and her from regaining composure after being chewed out. Amai closed her eyes, breathed...

Then she yelled back, which she rarely did with anyone.

"IT'S NOT MY FAULT! I GOT TURNED INTO A CAT, MY FELINE INSTINCTS GOT THE BEST OF ME, I WANDERED THROUGH HALF OF THE CITY FOR HOURS WITHOUT REST, GOT CHASED BY A GROSS FAT CAT, AND GOT KISSED BY ANOTHER CAT THAT CHANGED BE BACK INTO A GIRL! I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON AND YOU LECTURING ME IS WASTING MY TIME!"

Again, they both panted, out of breath. Ryou sighed once things cooled down. "In any case you understand now that you can turn back by kissing."

"Yeah. Though I suppose all of this started because I got separated from you. I'm sorry, Ryou."

"So kissing is the trigger... does it work the other way?"

Amai jolted at the question. "Wh-what other way?"

Ryou moved an inch closer. "I mean if I were to kiss you while you were human." He smiled. "Wanna test that and kiss me?"

Amai's face burned. "What... you can't be serious!"

Ryou pulled back laughing. "I'm joking! We should get you to the others."

Amai was still blushing, both embarrassed and unamused. "That's not funny, Ryou." Her stomach made a low growl, not heard by Ryou but felt by Amai. She groaned remembering how hungry she was. Ryou held out a small package to her, wrapped in paper from the café.

"Keiichiro made it. You haven't eaten since yesterday, right?" She nodded. "Eat while we're on the move. You can't fight on an empty stomach."

Amai took the treat, thanking him softly. Ryou smiled before he got serious. "The aliens are trying to pollute the air beyond repair. To stop them, we need to steal their Mew Aqua."

"Now go! Get out there and lead us to victory!"

"Right!"

Amai ran, Masha following her. She took bites of the food while running to Tokyo Tower, knowing the girls would hold their ground until she got there.
