Amai had never ran so fast or determined in her life. Her legs were burning and her lungs felt tight, but she pushed to make it to her destination.
"Vital energy restored!"
"Keiichiro's a great cook! That treat really helped!"
Amai looked to her right where she could see the tower past several buildings. She had to get there, had to get there now.
"Masha, there's no time to waste! They need me!" The little robots chirped. "Calculating the fastest route!"
They stopped in front of a busy road, and just as a truck passed Amai transformed, jumping over traffic and onto buildings. All along the way, her mind was fogged with multiple thoughts.
"This fight will be the biggest one we've had. Me and the girls are gonna have to use everything we've got!" She dug her heels into the roof of a building and landed on another. While leaping into the air, Amai caught sight of something from the corner of her eye down below.
The heads of her parents sitting on a bench, watching something on her dad's phone, no doubt the chaos happening. Seeing them, specifically her father, made her think something.
"This battle, it might be the time when I have to tell the Mew Mews the truth about me. What I really am and what I know. Am I actually ready?"
The harsh words spoken in her nightmares came back to her. Of course she was still terrified of being shunned and rejected for holding in something so big as being half alien. But she then thought about what she had told Zakuro some time ago.
"It's never really bothered me as much before, but since becoming a Mew Mew, it's been killing me the longer I keep it hidden. It's making me feel weak, even when I'm strong."
"When will you take your mask off?"
She also thought about what her father had said.
"Just continue what you've been doing. Focus on your mission and wait for the right time. Remember that you alone will know when the truth will be revealed. And perhaps Zakuro is right, that soon will be the proper time."
"The proper time..." Amai closed her eyes. "I don't want hide from them. I don't want to pretend. I love them too much to keep deceiving them like this. That settles it, I'll tell them once this fight is over!"
Her mind made up, she raced to the tower with more strength.
"This city is where I grew up. I spend every day at school with my best friend, the café with the Mew Mews, home with my parents, the park and fun places like the zoo... and it's all in danger of being pollinated! Everything and everyone I love is in danger!"
Her blood boiled, her feet practically flew across the building tops. When she got close enough to the tower she saw the girls crowded by Chimera Animals. She raised her wand high in the air.
"RIBBON SWEET SHINE!"
A powerful wave of magic struck every last creature, destroying them instantly. Her friends saw her up on the roof, relief and happy washing over them.
"Amai!"
"You're here!"
Jumping to the ground, Amai met them. "Sorry, long story." She turned to Ichigo. "Today's your date, right? Let's hurry and get you there on time!"
"Okay!"
A shadow came up behind her, but Amai luckily shot at it with her wand in quick time. Then she and the others lined up, facing all three aliens who were up above them.
"This stops, you three!" Amai pointed a finger, fierceness drawn on her face. " For the future of the Earth, I'm going to make up being late by completely and totally..." Tokyo Mew Mew stuck a pose.
"Serving you justice, nya!"
Kisshu grinned and laughed. His eyes gleamed looking down at Amai. "This is what I've been waiting for!"
Amai stood tall, ready for the big fight to begin.
