As Greg lead me out of the room and past the men he killed in the hall I was in a mass frenzy.  "Greg!  Greg wait!"

"What," He asked stopping before he opened the door at the top of the stairs.  I looked up at him in a daze.

"If the house is about to explode, why am I down here?  Was Rachel, your mother, trying to kill me?"

Greg seemed disgruntled by that.  "Mother thought that something would go wrong when she would confront Jim about his, um, father.  She put you here so no one could find you.  She told no one where she put you, heck I didn't even know we had a basement!  Apparently she found Jim outside bruised and bloody, poor boy.  Said his father figured out his secret?"

"What was his secret?"

Greg shrugged before a large explosion happened above that made the lights flicker.  I hugged onto  Greg's front.  "This isn't the time to talk.  The whole mansion is on fire above; if we stay here any longer we are going to get roasted."

I nodded in agreement and when he opened the door we were smacked with a wall of black smoke.  I coughed instantly.  Greg put his arm protectively around me and we pushed onward.  I heard dreadful screams and howls of pain from some where beyond the red hue.  I felt myself begin to worry if we would make it out alive.  The farther we pushed into the house the hotter it got.  A piece of the roof soon caved in, blocking our way on ward.

"What now," I screamed over the noise.

"I...I'm not sure."  Greg looked back and saw another hallway.  "There," he pointed to it.  "We can go this way!"  We stumbled and pushed through the heat and flames.  We heard slight cringes before the roof above us began to fall in.  Greg looked up just in time to push me forward out of its way.  I fell onto the ground inches away from the damaged roof and flying embers.

I quickly stood and looked for Greg.  "Greg?  Greg!  Please be ok, answer me!"  I got no response and my heart sank quickly.  I looked for away past the fall in but the flames that caked it were too hot.  I was about to burst into tears, assuming the worst, when I heard coughing from the beyond.  A figure stood up slowly and with a slight limp.

"I'm ok.  Just a little burned.  Are you ok?"

I nearly fell over in relief.  "Don't scare me like that!  I'm fine, but what now?"

"Find away out!  Don't worry about me.  I know this place like the back of my hand.  Just keep going that way.  When you see the computer room go left and that should lead you out."

I nodded but was reluctant to leave him.  "I...I don't want to leave you here, Greg."

Greg looked sad.  He put on a smile for me before putting his hands in his pockets casually, just like the fist time I met him.  "Go on now.  Don't make me jump these flames to carry you out myself."

I felt a few tears fall down my face.  The way he looked, the way he sounded...it felt too much like a goodbye.  He gave a smart look with a grin included.  I could really see the black that the ashes had given him when he smiled and it broke my heart.  He gave a sadder smile when I didn't answer him.  "I love you, June."

"I love you too," I told him back.  Before he turned and ran away he gave one last look and said, "I better see you alive and well when I get out of here, Jady.  Or I will kick William's ass."  Then, just like that, he disappeared into the black.

I soaked up the tears I had shed and put away my sadness.  I pushed my way through the flames.  I was about to enter a new hall way when some one came running past me on fire.  My shock threw me onto the scorching wall behind me.  I singed my shoulder and jumped away as pain simmered through me.  I fought off the tears and I entered the hall.  To my left was the way out and to my right was the Intelligence room.
