"I suppose the new Jade is here for briefing?," Maddie asked.  Everyone but Maddie and Jim had turned back around to continue their work.

Rachel patted my back like someone would to a kid trying to nudge them to talk.  Maddie and Rachel led me to a side room that was more brightly lit than the room before.

There was only a table and a couple chairs settled in the room.  I saw the large stack of folders on the table first and had a bad feeling about them.

There was a large U.S. map laid out on the table.  It seemed to have diffrent pins stuck in it.

"This is a map of all our correspondent and other Chacolate locations," Maddie explained as I gazed at where she pointed.

"I call them Candy spots," Rachel chimed in.  "Most of our secret bases are in candy stores."

Rachel pointed to the blue pins over on the East coast.  "The blue pins here are our correspondents.  This one," she pointed to one in New York, "is the Irish group Eagles."

"This one here," she continued pointing to a pin in Tennesse, "is the Moonshiners.  They don't correspond much but are huge in our global dealings."

That's only a county over from where I live I thought feeling a bit un-easy.

"That is our main correspondents.  No need to go over the others seeing that your reading over them tonight," Maddie said with sweet smile.

"R-read?  What do mean by that?," I asked.

Rachel slamed her hand down on the large stack of folders.  I flinched as if it was a gun shot.  "We mean, here is your homework."

"Wait, what!?  Homework?"  Now I am getting homework?  What next?!

"This is all the files we have on every member here," Maddie said with a serious look.  "You could say it is like a permanent record.  I put the most important people on bottom."

"You have two days and after that we can start planing your wedding!," Rachel said nearly vibrating with joy.

This place is insane I yelled in my head.  As Rachel was leading me back to my room I noticed Maddie's sad expression when Rachel mentioned the wedding planing.

By dinner, I had finnaly gotten through the first half of folders.  Why am I doing this I wondered.  Kettle had brought me lunch but never spoke to me.  I found unusual since she never seems to shut up.

I got up from my bed to stretch.  The information wasn't long but it still was taking forever.  Many people were ex-cons or rebellious teens who don't know what they are getting into.

Also I noticed the deeper I got into the stack, the scarier people got.

Like the last person was a convicted convic who had been broken out of jail for killing someone who killed his daughter.

I sat back down on my bed to realize just what kind of situation I am in.  "Has no one realized I am missing yet?," I wispeared queitly to myself

I glanced at the next folder and recongized the name almost immediately.

KETTLE ELIZABETH PELLYWOG

I picked up the folder and ran my fingertips over the letters.  It felt wrong to invade my friend's privace like this.  But, my curriosity got hold of me.

"Lets have a look," I mummbled.

On the first page was a little girl in a pink dress.  Her smile was genuine and a huge mansion loomed in the back ground.

"Kettle Elizabeth Pellywog was born on July 14 of 1992.  (Twenty-two years old?)  Second youngest of four sibblings.  As Kettle grew up she was taught in the art of assiniation of rivial mobs.  At age twenty, Kettle commited several treasons against Chacolates mob code.  She vanished two years ago only to recently appear.  Keeping tabs."

She just vanished?  I wonder why?  But as I flipped the page I knew why.  And what I saw turned my stomach.
