Chapter 4

--Den's—

"Right on sched." I thought when I arrived at Aly's condo and parked my car. I grabbed my things and walked excitedly into her crib. The security guards' are kinda my friends too. Hihi. I always go here, like, every single day. You may wonder how can I get into her condo when in fact it is her condo and she's the one who only knows the pincode of her unit? But no. I actually know her the pin. Trust me, I know everything about Aly and everything that concerns her.

But to my surprise, the door was not locked. I felt a bit worried about it but I shrugged the feeling off and got inside her unit quietly. I went straight to the kitchen and placed the ingredients on the kitchen island.

But my brows creased when I heard something loud. It's like some hardcore metal rock song playing.
"Well, thid is really odd. I know Aly likes these kind of music too but, seriously? Playing it this early in the morning? Nu uh. Not her type. She likes peaceful mornings." I thought. My excitement then turned to fear and anxiety. Then my heart skipped a beat. I don't know, but this feeling is bad. I went to her room passing the living area of her unit. That was when I realized the clothes scattered all over the floor. "Her jogging clothes?"
Yes indeed. My heartbeat now is racing. Something's definitely wrong.
"Wait. Is she with someone? No way." I thought as I scanned the scattered clothes on the floor. "There's not a chance she'd bring anyone here, well, except me I guess?" The thought even made my feelings worse. It just that i never thought I'd feel this bad about Aly bringing some person in her place other than me. It's like I'm jealous. Funny I'm just her bestfriend, why am I feeling like a possessive wife or something? "nah. Maybe because she never brings any humans in this place other than you Dennise. And for Pete's sake, Aly's never been in love with someone or never liked someone to the extent that she'd bring that someone here and do some monkey business." I smirked annoyingly at the thought.

I immediately went to her room, ready for the scene that is waiting for me. And to my surprise again, she's not in her bed. Her bed was not even touhed by the looks of it. "Damn Aly. Where are you? What is happening?" Now I am really worried. I turned off the music which is irritatingly loud. I decided to check her study room and even went straight to the terrace but there was not a trace that I found.

"Bathroom. Yes! The bathroom Den!"And so i hastly went into the bathroom and found it locked. My eyes are starting to blur for I felt like crying. I knocked on the door hard and called out. "Baks! Oi Baks! Don't kid around! Open up!" But I didn't get any response so I called out once more. This time in a serious tone as I kept on pounding the locked door. "Alyssa! Hoi Aly! Buksan mo to! Valdez!". Then again, she gave me no response. I'm shaking now.
I got the bathroom door's key from her drawer and opened the door with a force. And to my greatest surprise and anxiety. I found her. I found bestfriend. I found Aly. Her eyes are close, her body is pale, naked. Her left arm leaned on the edge of the tub and dangling. My eye's caught the blood-stained water and floor. By then I realized that she made the most stupid move ever. And so, my tears streamed down my cheeks as I rushed into her.

           "Fuck. Damn it. I thought I know everything about you, you idiot."
