BIRTHDAY
December passed by swiftly. Today is the first day of January, ngayon ang alis ni Nia pa Japan kaya we're here at the airport now to send her off, of course.
I never expected that she would cry, sa ugali ba naman ng babaeng ‘yan? But when you truly loved the person, it's hard for you to be distant with them, kaya gets ko rin si Nia, kahit kami nga ang naiiyak din.
It's sunday so wala kaming pasok, isa pa, it's new year.
“What happened?” Taranta kong tanong.
“I just bumped with someone” He replied.
Sinungaling! Alam kong pasa ‘yan galing sa suntok!
“Anong nangyari, klyde?!” Pagalit ko nang tanong! Ang baliw, ngumiti lang!
“Cute.” Sabi n'ya.
Siraulo!
“Pwede ba Klyde–” He puts his index finger on my mount causing it to stopped from what I wanted to say.
“I'm fine.
I wanted to ask him what happened but it's a family matter so I just decided to shut my thoughts.
You're not in the position to ask, Sid.
I cooked dinner for us.
“How's your day, babe?”
“Ikaw?” Patanong kong sagot sa kanya.
“I asked you first, Rory.”
“Good.” Tipid n'yang sagot.
I cleared my throat to get his attention and it was successful coz he look at me quickly.
“Yes?” He asked.
“Uh. She invited me.” Nonsense question, Sid. Of course he will, eh tita n'ya iyon!
“Yeah. Let's go there together.” He authoritatively said.
“Hindi na, magdadala ako ng sasakyan.”
His left brow raised and open his mouth to counter my response.
“Mas prefer mo makatipid, right? So ride with me.” He replied and put his utensils down.
He caught me off guard kaya hilaw akong ngumiti sa kanya.
This man…
“Just drop me outside the the village, deal?” I negotiated.
“No.” He replied with finality.
Oh god.
“At the gate?” Palugit ko pa.
