*BELLA'S POV*

I leaned over the railing where Joe was standing. I kept my distance, but I could still feel his half-sadistic smirk as he looked at me.

"You almost got me, red," he said.

"Did I?"

He knows.

"The little show you two put on," he sneered sarcastically. "You almost got me thinking I was losing my mind."

"It's not like you're smart," I shot back.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of, but I'm going to show you...." he seethed, stepping closer.

"Is that supposed to scare me?"
I crossed my arms, refusing to flinch.

He pulled his hand out from his pocket and handed me a photo.
The image burned into my brain.

I instantly recognized it. It was from the 4th of July party.
Ellie and me.
On a couch in the resort, kissing each other.

I felt my heart drop.

"This little gem was casually hanging out on the hotel board with all the other photos... looks like you two really had a blast at the 4th of July party." He gritted his teeth.

"What are you implying with this?"
I couldn't hide how nervous I was.

He smirked, pulling his phone out.
"I think it's pretty clear, Bella. I will make sure everyone we know sees this photo. Imagine how Ellie's gonna feel about this..."

"Shut the fuck up about her." I cut him off.

"Why should I?" he grinned, clearly enjoying this. "Ellie's part of the show, isn't she?"

"You wouldn't dare..." I swallowed hard, my hands trembling as I clutched the photo.

"I will if you don't back the fuck off."

I immediately shot him a death stare, realizing how things were turning.
"Are you fucking blackmailing me?"

He smirked.
"Damn right I am."

"Do it, and I swear I'll ruin you," I cut him off, my rage burning.

He gritted his teeth.
"Not as much as you will if you don't back off!"

"Not a chance." I hissed.

"I've been a gentleman so far, giving you a chance, but this fucking ends now," he growled.

"You've been nothing but the biggest son of a bitch in this world." I shot back.

"Don't try me, red, all you've been is a slut with that stupid girl these days," he laughed.

That's it.

I raised my gaze, and before I knew it, I was pushing him.
He flinched back, but then grabbed my wrist with a tight grip.

I didn't back down.
I met his gaze, a smile creeping onto my face.

"You seriously can't stand that Ellie and I are in love, can you?"
My voice was low, just a centimeter away from his fucking dickface.

He flinched again, and I could tell my words got to him.
His grip loosened, and he shoved my hand away like it burned him.

"Love? Don't kid yourself. It's just you two playing a stupid joke that's already over."

"You don't have a damn clue what you're talking about. You wouldn't have even figured it out if it weren't for that photo," I shot back.

"You better stop fucking pushing me, Bella, or I'll fucking share this damn photo!" He exclaimed, infuriated.

"You wouldn't have the guts..." I hissed.

"Try me. I got nothing to lose, and you probably don't either. But Ellie? I don't think she'll be too happy about the truth coming out, don't you think?"

"Don't you dare bring her into this." I muttered.
I could feel myself losing it.

He chuckled, clearly enjoying how I instinctively reacted to her.

"I mean... leaving your fiancé is already
a scandal, but leaving him for his best friend's girlfriend? That's just messed up... what everyone will say about her?"

His words pierced through my defenses, and I remained frozen, unable to respond, my mind racing.

"What do you want?" I murmured, biting my lip.

I was desperate.

"Now that's thinking straight," he sneered, his voice satisfied.

"I want you to leave, and I'll give you... one hour to get the hell out of here and never show your face again. If you don't, I'll share this damn photo."

He pulled his phone back in his pocket, implying he'd already taken all the photos of Ellie and me.

He's messing with my head.
I feel like I'm losing my mind, like I'm drowning in guilt.
It's fucking killing me.

All I can think about is Ellie and how she doesn't deserve any of this.

Joe looked satisfied with my distress.
The blood boiling in my vens.

"She won't go back to you," I hissed before he walked away.

He laughed.
"That's what you think. But if I can't have her, then neither will you."

"You've got one hour, red. I'll find you if you even think about hiding in this resort."
With this last threating he walked away.

He can go to hell because there's no way I'm leaving without talking to Ellie first.

And I'm pretty sure he doesn't know every corner of this resort...
An idea popped into my head as thought about this.

I texted Ellie right away.
<< Meet me where it all begins. Now.>>

I desperately hope she can catch my cryptic text, because if she doesn't... I'll lose her for good...
The thought alone makes my heart tighten.

I don't want to lose her.

This is my last chance.
