"Well, well," Bella said in a mocking tone.
"Look who's here..."

Clearly, Joe didn't see that coming—he just stood there looking like a total idiot.
He was red with anger and alcohol.

"You bitch! You're still fucking here!" he seethed, stepping closer to Bella, who mirrored him.

"Excuse me?!"
I blurted out from behind her.

I was getting closer and closer to his stupid face, but Bella stepped in, blocking my way with her arm.

"You better take that back." I demanded.

"Fuck no, Ellie... you don't get it, kid..." he was using that tone he always did when he wanted to manipulate.

"Don't call me kid." I hissed. "And no, you're the one who doesn't get it! It's over!" I snapped.

His eyes narrow in disbelief and anger.
"You don't mean that. You're not thinking straight, Ellie. She's filling your head with—"

"Shut up. This is me thinking clearly for the first time in years," I cut him off.

My heart was racing, but I held his gaze firmly.
"I'm fucking done with you."

I tried to step back but I guess he wasn't done yet...

"Doesn't she tell you about the photo?!" He sneered. "Don't risk it, Ellie, or you might not like the outcome..."

He's really getting on my nerves now.

Again, I attempted to step closer to him, but Bella squeezed my wrist, her fingers intertwining with mine, grounding me.

"You don't have anything I'm afraid of. Nothing at all. So stop threatening me."

"You really want to stay with her?! You're that desperate?" he demanded, his voice full of anger and defiance.

"Yes, moron, I do. I love her. It's something that you'll never understand."

"What exactly?!"

"You don't know what love is because you're incapable of loving or being loved. I'm really sorry for you."

Joe stayed silent, his face still red, his veins pulsing with anger.

"Get out of my room." I said firmly.

"You're nothing but a bitch too," he snapped at me.

"You're nothing but an asshole." Bella replied immediately.
Her stance shifting as if she were ready to pounce, but I blocked her path.

"Get out, Joe, it's over." I tried to keep it together.

He smirked, and suddenly his eyes shifted to Bella, like he had something to say that would make her lose it.

"Doesn't matter who the hell you fuck, Ellie—go ahead, get off! You'll enjoy it, either way!"

I saw Bella punch him before I even realized it.

It was hard enough to make Joe stumble back and fall on his hip.

Man... that was badass...

I was still impressed, but I grabbed her hand to make sure she was okay.
Her knuckles were a bit red and slightly scratched, but she looked at me and smirked, her expression fully satisfied.

"You're pathetic," Joe sneered at her.
He wiped his cheek with a cruel grin.

"Still talking?" she smirked.
"I figured you'd be too busy licking your wounds by now..."

Joe's smile vanished, replaced by a look of pure hatred.
"Fuck you, Bella. I'll make sure you wish you'd never met me."

"Idiot, why don't you take it out on me again since I was the one who left you?!" I snapped.
