Feelings?

To be honest, I have kinda lost that creative 'spark' when writing fanfiction. So I'm really sorry if all these chapters have been terrible

The days were slowly blurring together for Tim as he settled into his new role at Metro. He spent most of his time coordinating operations and managing large-scale incidents, but no matter how busy he got, his thoughts kept drifting back to Lucy. It wasn't that he wasn't focused on his work—he was—but there was something else pulling at him. Something he couldn't ignore anymore.

It had been building for weeks, perhaps even months, but he hadn't allowed himself to acknowledge it. After all, he was a professional. He couldn't afford to let personal feelings get in the way of his job. Yet, every time he saw her, every time they exchanged a text or a brief conversation, it felt like his heart beat just a little faster.

Lucy had always been a source of inspiration for him. Her sharp mind, her dedication to her work, her constant striving to improve—it had all made her someone he respected deeply. But somewhere along the way, that respect had morphed into something more. It was a quiet feeling at first—subtle, easy to brush aside. But as their connection deepened, it became harder to deny. She wasn't just his partner anymore. She was someone who mattered to him in a way he hadn't expected.

Lucy, on the other hand, was feeling much the same. Though she was used to focusing on her work, the moments she spent with Tim, even in the midst of busy days and chaos, seemed to stand out more and more. There was something about his steady presence, his calm in the face of danger, that made her feel secure—like everything was going to be okay. She couldn't help but notice the way her thoughts would often wander to him when they were apart. The way she found herself seeking out his advice, his guidance, and most of all, his company.

It wasn't something she had planned. Her focus had always been on her career, on proving herself. But the connection she shared with Tim was undeniable. Every time she saw him, it was like a part of her heart skipped a beat. And the worst part was, she wasn't sure what to do about it.

Their growing feelings for each other weren't obvious to everyone around them. They kept their emotions in check, especially at work. They had a strong professional relationship, and neither of them wanted to jeopardize that. But behind closed doors, when the world wasn't watching, things felt different. They were two people drawn to each other, even though neither of them wanted to admit it.

It was a rare quiet evening at the station. Lucy had just finished her shift and was sitting at her desk, going over case notes when her phone buzzed. She looked down to see a message from Tim.

T: "How's it going?"

She smiled, tapping out a reply.

L: "Busy as always. But I'm getting through it. How about you?"

There was a brief pause before his reply came through.

T: "Same here. Metro's got a whole different rhythm, but I'm adjusting. How's your training going? You keeping up?"

Lucy couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at his words. He was always supportive, always encouraging her to push herself further.

L: "Yeah, it's going well. I've been getting a lot of one-on-one time with Nyla. She's been showing me the ropes of detective work, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it."

There was a long pause before Tim's next message arrived. Lucy had to admit, she was a little nervous about what he might say. There was something about the way he took care of her—something about his steady presence—that made her feel safe. It was hard to explain, but it was there, simmering beneath the surface.
