Tim Bradford is a Officer and training officer at Mid-Whilsher police department. His ex-wife isabel used to be a undercover cop but has succumbed to drugs. The two have a toddler who is turning three, Emma.
Tim was currently at the station, writing his report.
Angela walked to Tim.
A : shouldn't you be on patrol?
T : Shouldn't you be on patrol?
A : I asked first
T : writing a report what else?
A : Why?
T : The babysitter I had hired decided to leave
A : Not surprised.
Tim started at her.
T : not helping
A : So where is my niece now?
T : niece?
A : your family!
T : Well, she's at the daycare but its extremely expensive
Angela just chuckled.
T : What?
A : just surprised you haven't realised it yet.
T : No kidding.
Then, Tim's phone rang.
T : Bradford
T : what do you mean you got evicted?
T : I paid for you to take care of my daughter from 8.30 am to 6pm for a month!
T : What do you mean!
Tim hangs up the phone.
A : What?
T : The daycare I put Emma at got them self evicted.
T : Now all the kids are left on the front porch.
A : grey?
T : grey
Tim knocks on grey's door.
G : come in
T : I need to pick my daughter up
G : Why now?
T : The daycare I put her at evicted everyone inside
T : now all the kids are left on the front porch.
G : Bring the kids to the station. get the Daycare's manager to give you all the kids parents numbers.
A : Permission to help?
G : Permission granted

Lucy is sitting in a park, on a call with Rachel.
L : I need a job.
R : Isn't Police Academy free in LA?
L : Yes. But after I told my parents I wanted to be an officer, they completely cut ties with me.
L : They said if you need money, I will give it to you only if you study law and become a lawyer
R : I think I know how that conversation turned out
L : No kidding. Not to mention, my apartment is getting renovated into a hotel
R : Ouch.
L : Yeah.
L : So right now, I'm practically homeless.
R : How much money do you have?
L : right now? Like 5 thousand
R : That won't let you survive more than three months of rent.
L : not to mention daily expenses
R : I would invite you to stay with me but
L : You're overseas. I know I know
R : I have class soon, talk to you later alright?
L : yeah. Bye
R : Bye
Lucy sighs. This was pathetic. No place to live. not family to talk to. No source of income. No degree. nothing.
Then, something caught her eye. A daycare literally opposite the park. They were putting all the kids on the front porch. Some thrown.
This wasn't right. She had to do something.
Without a second thought, Lucy ran towards the daycare.
She looked at the poor kids, all on the front porch. Then she saw something.
? : Come on kid
Child : No! I want my daddy!
? : Your dad sent me
Child : No!
Then, the stranger put the child over his shoulder.
L : PUT HER DOWN
? : Why do you care
L : PUT THE CHILD DOWN
Next thing you knew, the guy took off with the child.
L : HEY
Lucy immediately ran after the stranger holding the child.
Lucy went through a shortcut and hit the guy's leg.
The guy put the child on the ground.
? : You want to fight
L : No sir. Just want to stop you from kidnapping her
? : I'm not!
L : looks like it to me.
The guy immediately took a swing at Lucy. Fortunately, she blocked it in time.
? : Brat!
Suddenly the guy pulls out a knife.
The guy swings the knife at Lucy but she manages to block a few, one barely scraping her cheek.
Then, the guy took a swing of the knife at the child.
Without second though, Lucy blocked it with her arm, grazing her arm.
Then, Police sirens could be heard. The guy immediately took off.
Lucy turned to the child.
L : Are you okay?
The child nods.
L : What's your name?
E : Emma
L : Do you know where your father is? His phone number?
Then, Emma points at someone.
Lucy turns to face who Emma was pointing to.
Lucy made eye contact. Tim made eye contact with Tim. Little did she know, this was the first step to her life changing.
