Lucy had just woken up. She was in a bed, more specifically hospital bed. She looked around, seeing an IV in her arm.

Then, a nurse came in.

N: You're awake!

N: how do you feel?

L: Better but a bit dizzy.

She looked at her left arm to see bandages around it.

L: What happened?

N: you got into a knife fight. At least that is what my report says

N: officer will be coming to check on you

N: As well as get your statement

L: okay...

N: If you need me, feel free to press the red button just above your bed.

The nurse says pointing to the button above her bed.

N: If there isn't anything else, I will get going

L: Thank you

The nurse left the room.

Then the thought finally came into her head. Bills. Taxes. Hospital fees.

Lucy groaned.

L: Why is life so unfair...

She checked the phone for messages and saw that her Landlord, Mr Phillip, had called her at least 5 times. Then, he called.

Reluctantly, she picked up the phone.

L: Mr Phillip, of what do I owe the pleasure. How is your day?

P: Don't try to change the subject!

P: You haven't paid rent yet!

L: What? I paid 6k for 2 months of rent last week!

P: Now, it's 12k per week!

L: W-what? Since when?

L: It's always been 3k per month!

P: Well, times changed!

P: You have till tomorrow to pay the extra 6k and taxes!

L: And how much would that be in total...

P: 12k- wait no. 40k!

L: WHAT

L: I can't do that

L: Sir, please. I'm in the hospital. surely you can decrease the cost... right?

P: No

L: Please

P: I DONT CARE

L: Sir please

P: MY HOUSE MY RULES

P: I BETTER SEE THE MONEY TOMORROW

P: OR ELSE IM THROWING ALL YOUR STUFF IN THE BINS

L: W-what? P-

He hung the phone.

Lucy grabbed a pillow and screamed into it.

This wasn't fair. She wouldn't mind if it changed to 4k a month but the change to 12k and week? That was absurd. And what late fees? I didn't fail school. 12k - 6k is 6k, not 40k. She was going homeless.

Then, she heard a knock on the door.

L: Come in!

The people that entered weren't who she expected.

It was Emma, the girl she saved and the officer who didn't believe her.

E : Nice Lady!

Emma practically jumped onto her bed.
