Aiah's reply was beyond Mina's expectation, she couldn't manage to say anything for a long while.
Actually, after so many years, her impression of Mikha had long since faded. She had quite a few boyfriends overseas too, but she had made sure to break up with them properly before coming back because of her grandpa's orders.
Her mission was clear: a marriage of convenience.
Her target? Mikhaela Janna Lim.
Get Mikha to marry her by all means. Even if it's an arranged marriage as long as she can secure being Mrs. Lim.
For the past few years, Benitez Corporation's investments were all failing badly and are now in a critical state. The bank was no longer willing to loan them money, and no other corporation was willing to just help them. A marriage of convenience was one of her grandpa's ways of dealing with it, and the first target they thought of was the Lim family.
In their estimation, there was no better choice than the Lim family. They wouldn't just have enough backing but there was also a marriage target that was of suitable age, outstanding and good in business too -it was definitely the best way to go.
She smoothed her expression over and said, "You're too confident, remember, a woman's love is never lasting."
"That's something you don't need to worry about." Aiah eyed her. "Is there anything else? If not, I'll leave first."
"Go? Where to?"
"How is that any of your business?" Aiah smiled politely yet sarcastically.
"We're all women here, maybe I can give you a suggestion." Mina rearranged her curls. "Speaking of which, let me give you a suggestion now, you should leave Mikha willingly before she dumps you publicly. Like, how embarrassing would that be for a small-time actress like you?"
Aiah folded her arms across her chest and answered, "If you're not even embarrassed chasing after MY girlfriend, why should I?"
Mina glared at her. "You!"
"Getting compliments from paid trolls has gotten to your head. Or are you really just full of yourself? Oh please! Wake up and look at the mirror. Also—" Aiah cut her off when she was about to speak again. "I don't like random women calling my girlfriend 'Miks', or whatever stupid nickname you wanna call her, like where do you get the audacity?"
"When Miks and I met, you're probably still playing in the mud in a barrio somewhere!" Mina answered angrily.
"You're talking about who met her first?! Oh my god! Are we in kindergarten?"
Aiah started to laugh silly. "Hey I saw this candy first so it's mine! Hahaha How old are you?!"
Mina was so angry her cheeks were redder than usual. "You really think Miks is loyal to you? Didn't you see the video from the news?"
"What video?" Aiah faked confusion, then seemed to understand. "Ahh you're talking about the video of the two of you in front of the toilet door?"
"Yes." Mina seemed to have finally got some confidence back and raised her head. "The Benitez family and the Lim family about to enter a marriage, you female celebrities shouldn't be like flies and sticking onto whoever has money!"
Flies? Ha! Then what are you, a rat?" Aiah was not angry, instead laughed. "With just a video, which is not even ten seconds long! Something you have to edit to make it into a slow-motion before putting it online- tell me, are you that desperate?"
