Later, after discussing the matter with Sandra Padilla for a long time, Aiah decided to cover her horrific bangs with fake hair.
She'd just gotten into the new set and started filming. They are scheduled to finish in more than half a year. She can't wait for the holidays to actually start.
While looking at the calendar, Maloi asked, "Are you going to Mikha's to celebrate the new year's this year?"
Aiah's face reddened. "I still don't know yet."
"Why don't you know yet? Hurry up and ask Mikha. If you can't go to the Lim family's place then come to mine." Maloi said, "Remember, ask Mikha when she comes by."
This time they were filming in Cebu. It was a major reason Aiah took this role. Long-distance relationships- experiencing it once or twice was enough. If she has to go through it again, it might be too painful.
She nodded. "Got it, got it."
Very soon it was her turn. Before leaving, she seemed to remember something and asked, "It's almost new year, did you help me send the money to Liam?"
"I did that a few days ago. Relax, I remember it all."
Aiah nodded. "That's good, thanks."
Today, she didn't have a lot of scenes. Before the skies darkened, she was done filming.
After packing, Maloi said, "Let's go, I'll send you home."
"No need. I'm going to the supermarket to get something, you can go first."
"Which supermarket, I'll send you on the way."
"Don't worry about it. Are you not going on a date?"
Maloi paused, saying unnaturally, "Date? I'm single."
"Don't act like I don't know you." Aiah laughed, tugging her mask on tighter and zipping her coat up to her chin. "Leaving now, see you tomorrow."
Aiah had her umbrella out and was about to open an app to call for a cab. Unexpectedly, the moment she unlocked her phone she got a call from an unknown number.
A number she believes belong to a place she hadn't seen in a while.
She hung up without thinking about it and the other called again right away the previous one was canceled.
A vague unease surfaced in Aiah. She had blacklisted plenty of numbers from this place. If the other couldn't get through to her she'd always go to find Maloi and never call a second time in such a short time.
She hesitated momentarily before turning into a sparsely populated street and, before the call disconnected, answered it.
"What's the problem?"
"What's the issue, you're acting like a thief- why'd you pick up after so long?" Krystal first complained a lot. Not even a greeting to her younger sister.
"If there's nothing important, don't call me." Aiah wanted to hang up after saying that.
"Hey, hey." The shrill voice continued. "Something, there's something."
"Speak." Aiah said, annoyed.
"You should come back this year for the New Year." Krystal said.
"That's it?" Aiah said succinctly, "No."
"Liam died, you have to come home to see him for the last time no matter what, won't you?"
