"Yes, that time in Lapu-Lapu! I remember now, that was when Captain Mikha had become the platoon leader!"
Nico nodded. "Yeah, she was really eager. She was ready to run on enemy lines with just a knife! Ah, just thinking about it makes me laugh so much!"
He had just finished speaking when a waiter came up with a few dishes, breaking the topic.
"All right, that's all in the past, stop singing yourself praises!" Nico laughed and said, "Eat, eat."
Aiah tilted her head and glanced at Mikha seated beside her. Her expression remained unchanged as she helped her get a bowl of soup.
"Try it while it's hot."
"Mhhm." Aiah took her bowl and while someone was chatting with Nico about a recent mission, grabbed Mikha's hand and dragged it under the table.
Mikha's hand was wide and rough, and she could faintly see the veins. Aiah moved from the palm to the elbow and there was nothing strange to be felt the whole way.
Where is Mikha's injury located?
"Sister-in-law, girls have to eat this." Someone sitting not too far away turned the turntable to deliver the snake meat to her. "It's said to be good for one's beauty, since you're a celebrity too, if you eat it you'll become prettier."
Aiah released Mikha's hand and said softly, "Yeah? Thanks."
From the start to the end, the guys never stopped talking. A few got a bit drunk, and even began singing in chorus -
"And did it my way....."
Aiah sat there eating quietly, very different from those who were competing to see whose alcohol tolerance was higher.
Nico picked up his cup and said, "Mikha, come on, let's drink."
Mikha nodded. She had driven here and didn't plan on drinking, so she didn't have a glass. Picking up the glass she had confiscated from Aiah, she filled it to the brim, raised it and said, "Happy early retirement."
Nico laughed and said, "Happy, happy! In the future, let's all meet more often. We're all comrades, if there's any problem just let me know. Right, Mikha, you helped Nate settle his issues, right? That brat called me, all teary-eyed and snotty."
"It's a small thing." Mikha downed it in one gulp.
"Hey, don't drink like that, you have to send Aiah home later."
"I'm calling a driver." While speaking, Mikha poured herself another glass. Halfway through, she got up and said, "I'll go make the call now."
The moment Mikha went out, Nico asked, "Aiah, when did you get together with Mikha?"
Aiah smiled. "Just recently."
"I see. I actually keep seeing you and Mikha on the news, and it's my wife who showed it to me. I keep telling her that Mikha was my vice captain, and she refuses to believe it!"
The guy beside them laughed. "Why don't you take a look at how different you are from Captain Mikha?"
Another round of laughter emerged.
"Fate, it's all fate." Nico's cheeks were red as he said, "I don't know how many years it's been since I could drink so freely. Aiah, you do remember Mikha, right? You kept staring at her then, did you already like her during that time -"
