"Vaibhav, I have never let anyone this close," she whispered breathlessly, her voice trembling as tears brimmed in her eyes. She swallowed hard, her vulnerability shining through.
"And after you," she continued in the same whisper, "I wouldn't be able to let anyone this close." Her words pierced me, raw and unguarded, leaving me breathless.
With the back of my fingers, I gently caressed her cheek, her eyes fluttering closed as her chest rose and fell unevenly. Her fragility, her trust in me, felt like the most precious gift I had ever been given.
"I'll cherish it," I murmured, leaning in until our foreheads touched, my voice thick with emotion.
"You know why?" I asked, brushing my thumb just underneath her eyes.
"Because....," I slipped into thoughts.
"Because...,"
"You are my greatest possession, my salvation, the very breath in—" My words faltered as she choked back a sob, her teary eyes meeting mine with an intensity that left me undone.
Her trembling palm rose to encompass my cheek, her touch soft yet firm, grounding me in the moment.
I closed my eyes, savoring the warmth of her hand against my skin, the weight of her words sinking deep into my heart.
And then, our lips met again. It was soft at first, tender and delicate, as though we were both afraid to break the fragile moment. The unushed tears in my eyes finally fell, their warmth trailing down my cheeks.
The kiss deepened, growing more desperate, more raw, as though we were pouring every unspoken word into that single touch. The taste of salt lingered on our lips, a bittersweet blend of the tears from both of our eyes, mingling with the overwhelming emotions that neither of us could contain.
Her hands slid to the back of my neck, pulling me closer, and I felt her tears on my skin, warm and unrelenting. It was as if the barriers between us had completely dissolved, leaving nothing but our vulnerability, my love, and the unbreakable bond we had forged.
When we finally pulled apart, just enough to breathe, her forehead rested against mine again, our breaths mingling, our tears still falling.
"Vaibhav," she whispered, her voice a trembling echo of everything she felt, "I've never felt this... complete."
I brushed my thumb across her damp cheek, my own voice barely audible.
"Neither have I. And I never will, with anyone but you."
And then, we meshed our lips again, a collision of desire and tenderness. Her arm looped fully around my neck, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. My body, heavy with longing, fell over her, pressing her into the softness of the bed. Didn't she realize how much I outweighed her?
Yet, she held me there as if I were weightless, as if the closeness mattered more than anything else.
Breathlessly, we parted again, our chests rising and falling in sync. My lips found their way to her cheek, her closed eyes, the curve of her chin, and her forehead, leaving gentle, lingering kisses over her beautiful visage. Each touch seemed to draw a soft gasp from her, her vulnerability making my heart race even faster.
Her arm clutched at my t-shirt, gripping it tightly as if anchoring herself to me. Her toes brushed against my ankle, tentative but electric. The cool air of the room began to shift, growing warmer, charged with the unspoken emotions and desires between us.
