"SPILL, now." Chaewon said, barely containing her grin. "We're not hanging up until you tell us every single detail about last night."
Sunoo chimed in, sipping from a mug that said World's Sassiest Friend. "Every. Single. Detail. Don't you dare leave out the good parts. Especially his face when he confessed."
Haneul sighed, a smile tugging at her lips. She sat crossed-legged on her bed, her phone propped up against a stack of books. The faint morning light filtered through her curtains as she sipped on her strawberry milk. On the screen, Chaewon and Sunoo were leaning in way too close to their cameras, their faces alive with curiosity and excitement.
"You two are impossible."
"That's not a denial," Chaewon teased, her eyes widening. "But for real, tell us everything. Like, what was his exact tone when he confessed? Was it soft? Nervous? Did he fumble over his words?"
Sunoo waved his hand dramatically. "Chae, please, let the girl breathe. Haneul, start from the beginning. Where were the both of you? And how exactly did Mr. Heeseung confess?"
Haneul laughed, rolling her eyes. "Fine, fine. He took me to this park near the lake. He'd set up a picnic — like, a real picnic — with fairy lights and everything."
"Ugh, I'm dying," Chaewon groaned, clutching her chest like the romance physically hurt her. "Keep going!"
"And then?" Sunoo leaned forward, his chin propped on his hand. "Did he just drop to one knee or what?"
Haneul's cheeks flushed as she recalled the moment. "He started talking about how he didn't think we'd even be friends again when he first saw me. And then he said..." She trailed off, biting her lip.
"Oh no, no, no!" Chaewon practically screamed. "Don't you dare stop there!"
Sunoo narrowed his eyes. "If you don't finish that sentence, I will fly over there and drag it out of you."
Haneul covered her face with her hands, laughing. "He said he didn't just want to be my childhood best friend. And then... he said he wanted to be my boyfriend."
The screen erupted in squeals. Chaewon clapped her hands like a seal, while Sunoo dramatically fell out of frame, only to pop back up seconds later.
"I KNEW IT!" Sunoo yelled, pointing at the camera. "I called it months ago! That man has been head over heels for you since day one."
