jar of hearts (a poetry story)

my wish

i wish you've would've been a better man,

you have the eyes of a lion,
you're your own master in your world

the pain,
you carry it well

a man who has to live day by day with the things he has done

i wanted to love you,
but it seems love wasn't enough for what we had going on

i wish you would've been a better man,
i wouldn't have to find someone else to be with when i thought you were my forever

your anxiety kills you inside,
but little do you know i feel like that almost every day

i hated myself,
cause what was missing?

you said i was everything,
so what went wrong?

i wish you would've been a better man,
the love out there is dead

and now

i have to find someone else when all i wanted was you
