REO LIED. he didn't have any afternoon classes.

as he was speed walking out of school campus, he made a few calls here and there.

"ba-ya? tell my chauffeur that i'm coming home by myself. also, tell the chef that i'm eating out. and—and, do you think that you can snatch me an appointment with that one hairdresser in roppongi? thank you, bye." he spoke in one breath before hanging up, jogging towards the residential area.

arriving near a particularly familiar block, he sprinted towards the house he knew best.

banging on the door frantically, he tapped his foot on the floor impatiently.

"just a second, mom—" chigiri opened the door with a yawn, eyes widening when he saw his friend.

"oh. reo."
"chigiri! how've you been? is your acl doing okay?" the boy took his shoes off, inviting himself in.

"wait, wait." chigiri tried pushing him out, but with the way his arms were spread out, reo obliviously took it as a sign to hug his friend as tightly as he can.

"it's okay. i missed you, too, man."
"yeah." chigiri awkwardly patted reo's back.

"i hope i'm not disturbing too much." reo said sheepishly as he found his way into the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea.

"make yourself at home." hyoma rolled his eyes, sitting on the countertop. "it's always the spoiled little kids who have the worst manners."

his friend scoffed in amusement, "that's rich coming from a guy who's fridge is empty."

there was a peaceful silence after their chuckles died down. the warm rays of sun filtered through the colourful window glass, recreating the pretty floral shapes on the wooden floor.

"i've never noticed your new kitchen windows. it looks amazing. can i take a picture to show that to my interior designer?"

"do whatever you want."

"thanks, chigiri. also, who fixed these for you? they made a pretty neat job."

"I don't know..? it was my mom and my sis who.. oh, nevermind. it was my sister's bestfriend." he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"y/n!" reo looked up from his phone, eyes wide.
"yes, her." chigiri arched a brow at his friend's suspicious behaviour. well, it wasn't too hard to guess that the mikage heir had the hots for you.

he walked towards the fridge, taking the homemade fruit punch out. as he drank, reo revealed the missing piece of information.

"how can i be so damn dumb?" reo hit his own forehead, "i came to see you, 'cause i asked her on a date and now i'm shitting bricks."
