I turned my car off, before getting out as I held my coffee in one hand, clicking the lock as my car beeped once .
My leather jacket gently fluttered around at the chilly winds as I walked up toward the building I worked in.
I headed inside , checked with security, although it was more of a greeting than anything.
Everyone knew who I was.
After I graduated, I attended university, never having heard from Charlie since his accident.
It's been about 5 years since I last seen him.
Not that it would make any difference to him, he didn't remember who I was.
And the idea of begging him to try to go back to what we had, well, it was useless.
I had no choice but to try and move on.

I tried
I've been on dates here and there but none of them could ever compare to him.
I even moved out of town, knowing if I ever ran into him or Ben again it would just make it worse.
No matter what I did, he would always be with Ben.
In the end , none of it ever mattered.

So why can't I let go after all this time?

I took a sip of my coffee as I headed out of the elevator and into the studio.
Every person who I passed by greeted me as I smiled and nodded to them.
I set my stuff down at my desk and sat down, grabbing the report off my desk as I skimmed through it.

"Hey, morning boss, you ready to go?  We're getting close to the big day, so we have a lot more callers then usual " my assistant said , poking their head in. 

I nodded and followed them out
"Yea, let's go."

I walked through the studio door as I sat in my usual chair.
Today was a rough topic, but I knew it couldn't be avoided.
I sat at the table among all the switches and buttons.
The
"ON AIR" sign remained off until it was time.

I yawned one last time.
Before I switched the sign on, and played our famous song intro.

And then, I started.

"Good morning good morning , we are just days away from the biggest day of the year, and no I'm not talking about Christmas, I'm talking about Valentine's Day.
Sources say that candy hearts and pink roses are the most bought this year, so if you haven't started, get on it!! Today I'm gonna be taking exactly 3 phone calls to ease that Valentine's Day stress.
And for those of you who are single,
I'm right there with you.
Hold on, we'll make it eventually!"
I played 3 types of love songs before going back to talk.

"Alright alright, I'll pick our first caller of the day. Number 1, you're on air. How can I ease your stress today ?"

"Yea, hi um..do you have any advice on how to get an ex back?" She asked

I cleared my throat,
"I'm gonna keep it very short and simple.. and don't take it personally, but never ever go back to an ex. If it didn't work out , it didn't work out. You need to process, let go, and move on, because you deserve someone better. "

"Alright, caller number 2, you're on air."

"Hey , this is so weird , how do you like.. tell someone you like them?" He asked

I smiled
"Easy my friend, you tell them the truth, and you tell them honestly and genuinely. But keep in mind, whether or not it works out , you're still your own person. And if they reject you for some reason, they were never meant for you mate. Find someone better."
