Chapter 23

Mai's P.O.V.

I woke up before the sunrise and got ready for battle. I was so ready to get this over with and start my family. I went to go wake up Winston and Alanzo. "Guys wake up!" I whisper yelled. "Just ten more ours." Alanzo said. They just stayed in bed. I grabbed a cup and got some cold water from the sink. I counted to three in my head and poured the water in them. They immediately jumped out the bed. "Why did you do that?" Winston asked. "Because you guys need to wake up and get ready. There's no time for sleep." They both mumbled something and went to different bathrooms.

I went down to go see Emma and tell her to start putting kids in the fort. I got down there some kids were still sleep and others looked like the walking dead. "Hey Emma, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, it's just that the kids don't like waking up early. They're probably gonna be sleeping through the war." She joked.

"Well I need you to start piling the kids into the fort now. There's no telling when they're coming." Emma nodded and started to gather her kids so they could follow me to the fort.

When we got to the fort I made an opening to that they could get in. The older people that can't do anything physically also came in. I didn't want them to get hurt in this mess. I closed the opening and told everyone in there to mind link me if they hear or see something wrong.

I went back inside the house to see is everyone was ready. My family was ready, sitting in the living room. And the pack was buzzing around like busy bees. "Alright is everyone ready?!" I yelled so the whole house could hear me. "Yes, Luna!" Everyone answered back. "Let's head on out and end this for good!" I yelled and everyone else started yelling. We walked out and started going to the forest. I looked behind me and people were still piling out the house.

As I went through the forest I saw the opening ahead. I picked up the pace and started going for it. I stopped at the edge of it to see if I could sense the dark spirits near. They were in the other side of the opening. I told everyone to stay back and I stepped out. Then the leader of the dark spirits stepped out. "Well hello there Mai. It's nice to see you but it's too bad that you're gonna leave us so soon. By that I mean you're gonna die soon. Just letting you know." I didn't know how much of a loser he was u till now. "I'm pretty sure it isn't me who will be dying. But this is your last chance to stop this. We could just go back to our regular lives and act like none of this happened."

"Hmm...nope. I will not let you ruin my plans. I will conquer the world!" He went back to his troops and so did I.

"Alright guys do y'all remember the plan?" I asked everyone. They nodded their heads in agreement. "Alright get in formation. Group one come with me." I had my mates and three hundred people follow me to the middle of the battle field.

I then heard war cries from the other side of the battle field. "Alright everyone get ready. Think with your head and not with your muscles."

The next thing I knew was that a dark spirit was right in front of me. It was about to punch me but I instantly dodged it and punched his gut. He doubled over and I kneed him in the face. He fell on the ground then I got a huge chunk of earth and crushed his head with it. Sorry but I came into this war to win.

I looked around for the leader and I saw him standing at the back just watching. I got angry and teleported in front of him. I punched him in the face and made him fall back. "Why are you back here? Shouldn't you be fighting your own fight?" I growled. He smirked,"Feisty aren't we? Well I'll let you know that I don't do the fighting I have people to do that for me." I got pissed and just threw fire at his face. He screamed in agony and rolled around. I pulled out the knife I had and cut off his legs slowly so he can feel all the pain. All you heard were screams coming from him. I put a force field around us so no one could come in or hear him scream. "You should have never started what you couldn't finish." I told him. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes,"I'm sorry. Just please stop. I'll do anything." I thought about it.

"Okay." I let down the force field and walked away a little then I felt something coming up behind me. I quickly bent down and saw a knife stab a tree. I quickly turned around. He looked like a deer caught in headlights. I ran to him and he tried to crawl away. I picked him up by the little hair he had on his head. "Well that wasn't smart, was it? I was gonna let you live but I've changed my mind." I wanted him to suffer.

I gathered up a lot of wood, set it on fire and let him look at it. "That's a nice looking fire isn't it?" I asked him. He looked at me wearily and nodded his head. "Do you know what will make it better?" I asked and he shook his head no. "If you were burning in it." I quickly tied his hands together and threw him in the fire. I watched him burn to death and scream his ass off.

I know this is kind of gross but he got what he deserved. No one needs dark spirits in the world anyways. The world needs to lighten up and have more happiness.

I went back to the fight and saw that we were winning. The other groups were attacking them from the trees with arrows and crossbows. I then went to my mates and told them the war was over. "Alanzo! Winston! It's over! We won!" I yelled running to them. They were watching over everyone because there were only a few dark spirits left but they would finish in a little bit.

They hugged me when I got to them. "That's great! Where's the leader?" Winston asked. "Uh probably on the ground or in a fire."

"What do you mean fire?" Alanzo asked. "Well I kind of wanted him to suffer so I let him burn in a fire."

"Ew what made you so vulgar."

"Not being able to start my family without any worries." We all laughed.

"Alphas, Luna, we have bad news." Two pack members came up to us. "Yes? What is it?" Alanzo asked. "It's your dad." Alanzo immediately paled.

I grabbed Alanzo's hand and we ran behind the pack members to Alanzo's father.

I saw him in front of the fortress I made. We ran up to him and saw him bleeding profusely. "Dad! Dad! It's gonna be okay. Let's just call the doctor and we can get this fixed." Alanzo cried.

"No son. It's probably time for me to go. I don't want to be a burden."

"But you won't be. Come on. You can be taken care of and healed in a second."

"It's alright son. I know you'll probably regret not sending me to the hospital but I'll get the chance to be with your mother. I just want you to know that I love you and you two Mai. And how can I forget about Winston," He smiled, "I wish I were able to see all the grandchildren I would have but I can't stand to be in this world without my mate."

"Daddy!" Melissa came running up. "Hey baby girl." He said softly. "We need to take you to the hospital."

"No it's okay. I explained everything already. I want you to know that I love you and I wish you luck in finding your mate." He kissed her on her forehead. He smiled and a tear came out his eye. He took his last breathe and that was the last time I got to talk to my father-in-law.

This is the war chapter. Sorry for the violent things here but I had to express the pain that Mai was feeling towards the leader of the dark spirits. And the last part kind of got me ready eyed myself. I hate it when someone you love dies. Well I hope you guys like this chapter and don't forget to...
