Chapter 19

Alanzo's P.O.V.

I turned off all the lights and flashed a lamp at him to make only him visible. I could tell he wasn't scared but a little weirded out. Probably cause he has two mates both male and female. "What is your name?" I asked him. "Winston Patcher." he said with a British accent.

"What pack are you from and what's your title?" Mai asked. "I am the beta of the Calm Oaks pack." he said proudly. "Why were you flirting with that whore?" I could sense Mai was getting a little mad. "Uh....I...I didn't expect to find my mate." He was scared. "So it's still alright to flirt with someone else even when you don't have a mate? What if I was with some other guy and ignoring you?" I growled not wanting to be with anyone. Winston growled too. "Fine, I'm sorry." He apologized.

"Do you think we have to mark him too to speed up the process?" Mai asked me through mind link. "I'm not sure if I trust him yet. We should wait about a day or two and see how it goes with him. I'm allowing you to hang with him only. You get to know him and tell me what he's like. I'll hang with my friends since I haven't hung out with them in forever." I told her. "Alright." We ended the mind link.

"Winston," he looked towards the direction of my voice, "you will be spending time with Mai to see if you are qualified to be our mate. If you fuck up, we won't hesitate to reject you." I growled at him.

"Oh stop that Alanzo. Nobody likes the tough guy ordeal. Go with your friends and I'll be with Winston. We'll be at the party in a little bit."

"Alright. Have fun but not too much fun." I said before I left.

I went back to the party and saw Mai's family with my friends and family. I wish mother was here she would have loved Mai and her family. I went by them and I saw my dad talking to Mai's parents and laughing their asses off. "So what's all the laughter about?" I asked when I got close. "We are just talking about you guys. Y'all are definitely made for each other." Diana said. "Y'all both were weird little children." My dad said. I instantly rolled my eyes. "That was only suppose to be a family thing."

"Well they're family now so they can know. Wait till we tell the stories to both of you. We're all gonna be red with laughter." George said and he all chuckled.

"Alright I need to go find my friends. I'll see y'all later."

"Oh where's Mai?" Diana asked.

"She's talking to someone."

He face scrunched up, "Oh okay. See ya!"

I went to go find everyone. Hazel would usually hanging out with Fredrick and Quinton at these things but they were alone. "Hey, where's Hazel?" I asked them. "She's probably with Mai's family. She dissed us earlier." Fredrick said. "What do you mean by diss?"

"She came by U.S. And was smiling like her regular self and then it seemed like something hit her and she turned around to us and said 'Where is Mai, you fags? I can see why she isn't in this area cause who would want to be by gay me.' and she walked of with an evil laugh. We haven't seen her since." Quinton said.

Something's not right. I went looking for Mai. I went back to our room and saw Winston knocked out and Mai in Hazel's arms. "I will kill you! You will not ruin my plans of running the world! You will be destroyed!" She yelled at Mai. "You can't because you're in a weak body. She can't hurt me no matter how hard you try."

I ran and kick Hazel on the side of her face. Then I saw something float out of her ear like it was leaving her.

It's the dark spirits. I thought we would have more time to prepare for them.

I went to Mai to see if she was okay. "Mai! Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine but we have to check on Winston. He tried to protect me but he wasn't strong enough to defeat the dark spirit. By the way, is the dark spirits the one trying to get rid of the werewolf race?"

"Yeah, I learned about this the day I met you but it never came up. I thought we would have more time to prepare for this."

"It seems as if regular wolves can't touch them. If we go to war, a lot of wolves would die. It's like we need all wolves to be white wolves." She told me.

"We'll just have to go talk to the moon goddess. and do you think we can still wait for the trust of Winston or should we just mark him now?" I asked Mai.

"We have to do it now or something is gonna happen to him soon." I nodded in agreement.

I looked at Winston. Well here goes nothing. I went to the nape of his neck and waited for Mai to get there. We counted to three and marked him at the same time. He instantly woke up and was surprised, scared, and then he relaxed. I picked up the blood and lifted myself up. Mai did the same and we both backed up.

He looked at us weirdly and then he had a face of pain. It seemed to get worse and he started screaming. He was crouched in a ball still screaming. He shifted into his wolf. His wolf was gray. All of his hair fell out making him look like a naked mole rat. Then his hair grew back white. He stopped screaming and sat in the ground trying to catch his breathe.

Mai and I sat beside him. "I guess it's time to catch you up on everything." Mai said and she started telling him everything from the beginning.
