Paige took the candy off the counter after taking her change and flashing the cashier a smile. She didn't say goodbye so I figured we were still talking. I followed her out of the gift shop and walked beside her.
"How long are you here?" She began to unwrap a pink lollipop she had bought.
"A month." I said watching the way she touched it to her tongue and closed her mouth around it.
We walked into the elevator and she hit the floor 2 button and looked over at me. She twirled the candy in her mouth that made her lips and tongue a brighter shade of pink.
"I like your tattoos as well." I spoke awkwardly breaking the silence.
She had a simple black rose on her arm, some writing on her collar bone and a couple on her wrist. She looked down observing her own arms and smiled.
"What does this one say?" I touched a finger to the cursive writing on her collar bone without realizing it and pulled away quickly when I caught myself.
She giggled at my nervousness.
"Charbonné. It was my mother's maiden name. She's French.""I got it to sort of honor the person she was before she was married." She explained to me speaking softly.
She looked up at me looking into my eyes. I felt like she could tell I was mesmerized by her talking.
The elevator doors rang open in front of us, pulling me out of my daze.
"I'm uh- not on this floor." I said"I know." She said and gently pulled me out of the elevator by my wrist.
We walked up to her door. Room 93.
She pulled a key out of her pocket and opened the door. "Hold this open." She said walking into her room and grabbing her phone off the bed.She handed it to me. "Wanna put your number in?"
Oh my god.
"Yeah!" I said trying not to show my excitement. That didn't work.I handed her my phone and she smirked typing in her number.
"See you around." She said handing it back to me."Okay." I smiled shyly.
She reached out and opened my hand placing a blue lollipop in my palm."Bye, Calum." she said before closing
the door in front of me.
I giggled to myself.
Paige. What the fuck.
