A week had gone by and I still hadn't texted Lucy. My fingers tapped my phone nervously as I contemplated the message. Pretty girl, hotel room, just the two of us. And the best part? No one would ever know. It was all so very tempting.
I pulled up the last message I had received from my girlfriend.
"Don't talk to me ever again." I read it in my head in her dramatic, controlling voice. No we weren't on good terms, but we also weren't technically broken up. How do I know?
I've received the same message on several other occasions throughout our relationship. A week or so usually goes by before she calls me. But she wasn't callin' and maybe that was okay.
The blue message bubble added to my blank white conversation space with Lucy's name at the top.
: wanna come to my room?
I received a smiley face a half hour before Lucy showed up at my door in another gloriously short floral dress.
"Hi" she grinned as I opened the door to let her in.
"Sorry. I would love to take you out but I.."
"I know it's okay." She maintained her smile.
"Also sorry about not calling I-"
"Ashton it's okay, you don't have to explain." She pulled her bag off of her shoulder and set it on the bed.
"Thanks." I said quietly.
"So what do we do in a hotel room for a few hours?" she rested her head in her palm as she stared at me.
"I uh I don't know."
