The Storm Hawks were excited about entering the annual Great Atmos Race, Nika wasn't overly keen – not being very competitive like her friends but she joined in nonetheless. She had told Piper about Aerrow kissing her cheek, for some reason Piper swooned and forced the blushing Yaris Sky Knight to give her all of the details. She was glad that she could forget her feelings for today – or so she thought. "Hey, I haven't seen you around before. What's your name beautiful?" A guy from the Third-Degree Burners asked. Nika blinked oblivious to the fact he was flirting, "It's Nika, I'm with the Storm Hawks. Good luck." She smiled politely before walking back over to her squadron, if the guy from that squadron was back then that meant Aerrow had also returned from his practice run. He sighed, looking rather disappointed, she made her way over ignoring the Third-Degree dude's calls for her to join him. Not realising that his friend was also making her way to Aerrow, he bumped into her. "Oops sorry there. What's a pretty thing like yourself hanging around these losers? We have never lost a race." He boasted, Nika rolled her eyes. "Pipe down, all good things must come to an end." She smirked walking away and hiding behind Stork. "W-what are you doing?" He croaked jumping away from her. "I'm hiding from them." She replied pointing to the Third-Degree Burners – one winking at her.

"I'd be willing to bet anything on Aerrow." Finn smirked, Aerrow resisting the urge to punch the sharpshooter in the face. "Really? Then how about this? If your boy doesn't leave Saharr wearing the Crystal Amulet, you wash our carrier for a year." Blister smirked, he frowned when Piper interrupted his bets. "A year of Finn doing all the cleaning? That's gonna be one dirty carrier." She laughed, "I also have one more wager – your team mate Nika has caught the eye of my team mate Scorch, if Aerrow finishes after Buster then she goes on a date with him." He smirked, Aerrow's normally bright green eyes darkened. "What? You can't wager on someone's feelings like that!" He exclaimed, "Oh I'm sorry? Is she taken already?" Blister enjoyed watching the Sky Knight get ever more peeved. "No but..." Aerrow replied feebly, knowing he had to win or at least beat Blister to protect her. "Pfft. You're on!" Finn smirked sealing the wager with a handshake, Aerrow was fuming – Nika shouldn't have been brought into this! Never mind being wagered like that! "Relax Aerrow's a Storm Hawk! There's no way he can lose!" He smiled, it faltered when Aerrow tore off. "What's with him?" He asked before being slapped on the head by Piper. "You're such a pig Finn! He told you how he feels about her!" She exclaimed before bonking him on the head again.

"Hey Nika?" Aerrow called, finding her playing with Radarr in the tent, she turned and smiled not seeing Radarrr make kissing faces at his master. "Yeah? What's up leader man?" She smiled, he couldn't help but smile back. "Um... if I don't win today then please don't hate me." He muttered scratching the back of his head. "Aerrow's it's just a race – I'm sure you can win." She replied looking confused but still smiled nonetheless. "Thanks, uh... You see Finn got carried away with making bets to Blister and well he agreed that if I finished after Blister then you would go on a date with his teammate Scorch..." Well at least he got it out, Nika sighed and put her face in her hands. "That will be the one who was talking to me earlier – I really don't like him like that." She said quietly, more to herself but Aerrow felt jealous, why should some guy that she doesn't like get to go on a date with her just because her "friend" lost a race? "I'm sorry." He said sitting in front of her, Radarr patted her leg and cuddled into her waist. "It's not your fault, but Finn better hope you win or he will wish he was never born." She replied, her blue eyes locked onto Aerrow's. "Just do your best Aerrow but I won't hate you if you lose or anything." She suddenly hugged him, kneeling as she wrapped her thin arms around his neck. A smile of relief graced his features and he hugged her back, wishing he never had to let go.
