Chapter 12 ~Lots of walking

After we regained ourselves after laughing so much we got our stuff together and started walking through the woods. We came across the odd monsters but quickly destroyed them. Afet what seemed like days we reached a road.
"Do we follow it to the next town? See where we are?" Ash asks she seemed like the only one not out of breath slightly.
"I think it would be a good idea."
"What way do we go?" Conner asked
"Let's go right." Leo suggested
"No let's go left." Nico argued .As they were arguing I looked up at the sky to see what direction was north when u saw what seemed like a big bird as it flew closer I saw it had massive wings and .. CLAWS.
"Uh guys." They just ignored me because they were to busy fighting.
"GUYS!!" They stopped shouting for a second so I pointed towards the bird and whispered pló̱ri̱ and my bow appeared in my hands. I drew a silver arrow from my quiver and nocked my bow seeing the others ready thier weapons. As they birds got closer I heard Nico whisper under his breath "Stymphalian Birds" I remember reading about them but I can't remember how to kill them so I turned slightly. "Do you how to get rid of them? " We all ran for cover under the trees at the side of the road but it won't do much.
"Hercules used bronze castinets and then shot them down" I saw Ash pull out a dagger, Leo had a fireball in his hand and Conner had a sword.
"Alright I have the bow, does anyone have castinets?" Leo pulls something out of his builders belt. He held up bronze castinets with a big grin on his face. He started to hit them off one another as the birds flew closer I drew the string back, let out a breath and fired, sure enough the arrow hit one of the birds then hit another. The others threw rocks at the birds goading them to come closer.
I quickly nocked my bow again and within a couple of seconds the birds were dead at our feet. I turned around to the others.
"Well that was easy." Nico was watching the sky making sure their were none left.
"A little too easy if you ask me." Ash commented dropping the rock she had in her hand. We started to walk away from the scene when we heard a cawing sound I turned round and saw a bird with its claws aimed for me. I was lifted into the air as Conner and the others started screaming. The bird squeezed my arm making me drop my bow.
"AVA! NO!" I was kicking and shouting but I couldn't do anything. The others ran after us but they fell behind. The Stymphalian bird had its claws wrapped around my arms so I couldn't reach my dagger or anything. As it soared higher I tried not to look down because I was scared of heights. It started to drift lower and lower until we came to just above the trees. It kept moving it's head as if it was looking for something and then it released me. I plummeted to the ground and my thoughts were on the others. How upset they were going to be when they found me dead on the ground. I hit something soft but it knocked the wind out of me. I lay there thinking thank the gods I'm not dead. I caught my breath enough to look to see where I fell. The stupid hurd dropped me in its nest. I made sure I still had my bag and I wasn't injured then is stood up. It was only then i saw the eggs. There must have been dozens of them. I stifled a cry. I was going to be eaten by baby birds. I crouched down and opens my bag to see what I could use to get down from here but I didn't have any rope. I looked up to the sun and a thought came into my head. Children of Apollo can manipulate light can't they. A beam of sun shone next to my so I trusted my hands into it and concentrated on making a rope. I looked down at my hands and there was nothing there. I heard a cracking noise from behind me. I turned around and to my horror I saw one of the eggs hatching. I turned back around and closed my eyes and concentrated on making the rope. I close my eyes and focused. I felt something in my hands I opened my eyes and nearly wept with joy. I created rope out of sunlight. I tied it to a secure branch of the nest and climbed down it. When I got near the bottom I let go of the rope and dropped I landed on my feet and started to run in what I thought was the direction where I last saw them.

Hey demigods so I decided to have a monster attack. Because who doesn't like a monster attack. So Ava has more powers but there is loads more in store for Avanor (Ava and Conner) and Leva (Leo and Ava).
