You tried to blend in with the staff members as you walked into the room where the girls were doing their livestream for their sixth anniversary.
The reason you're trying not to be seen by Chaeryeong or the girls right now is that you're hoping to surprise her.
At first, you told Chaeryeong you wouldn't be able to attend any of the things that she and the girls are doing today but that was a lie, of course.
You've been planning this entire time to come and support her; you wouldn't miss this day for the world.
You kept the mask over your lips and nose, hoping that it would keep your girlfriend and the girls from recognizing you as they finished the livestream.
After a few more minutes, a few hugs, and a lot of happy tears, the livestream ended.
"Done!" One of the staff members called out.
The girls kept holding each other for another moment because the moment was so special and so sentimental.
Chaeryeong was the first to pull away and she fanned herself, trying to hold back any more tears that threatened to fall.
"It's so hard to believe it's been six years." She told Yuna as they stood up, their mic packs being taken off.
Time goes by so fast, especially when you're having fun.
That was so true for the girls.
It feels unreal that they've hit six years together when it almost feels like they just made their debut just yesterday.
They've come so far, so much blood, sweat, and tears being shed as they work to make their dreams come true.
"I can't believe how much I cried," Yeji laughed before Ryujin reached out to dry her eyes.
"I need to call Y/N and see if she saw the live stream," Chaeryeong said before walking across the room to find her phone.
But as she did so, she walked right by you and you reached out to pull her close to you.
The second your arms wrapped around her, her eyes went wide as she found herself wondering why some random staff member was being so touchy.
But you pulled your mask down just a second later and she gasped the second she saw your face.
"You're here!"
You laughed as she threw her arms tight around your neck.
"I can't believe you made it."
"As if I'd miss ITZY's sixth anniversary." You scoffed. "Come on, darling. It's a big day. Nothing could ever keep me from being here to support you and the girls."
She unwrapped her arms from around your neck so she could grab your hands in hers instead.
"I think I'm the luckiest and happiest person on the entire planet. Today marks six years since I began to live out my biggest dreams with my best friends and I get to love you. I get to call you all mine and come home to you every single night. You're there through the good, the bad, and everything in between. I don't think anyone could ever be as happy as I am."
It brought you so much joy to hear those words leave her lips.
She deserves to feel that way every single day and you couldn't be more proud of her.
"I'm happy too; so happy. And so proud of you. I'm proud of how far you've come. I love you so much."
She leaned in and stole a kiss from your lips and, just as always, your heart skipped a beat at the feeling.
"I love you too."
You put your arms around her to pull her closer.
Your eyes slipped shut as everything in the world felt right and seemed to make sense.
"I hate to say this but you should probably get back to your activities with the girls."
Chaeryeong sighed but nodded although she didn't pull away, not immediately.
"Yeah, we have to take pictures for Bubble and social media." She said against your neck as she buried her face there.
Her breath tickled your skin and you let out a little laugh.
"But everything else can wait a moment. I just want to hold you and thank my lucky stars for everything I have."
She closed her eyes, fighting how heavy they felt.
They always feel heavy but it's worth it to be able to live this life that is somehow even better than she could've ever imagined or dreamt of it being.
After a moment, she pulled away but not without pecking your lips a couple of times.
"It's good to see you, Y/N," Yuna said as she and the girls walked over to you and Chaeryeong.
"Good to see you all too."
From the way you and Yuna spoke, you'd almost think it's been months since you last saw each other when, in reality, it was probably just a day ago.
But you being here doesn't just mean a lot to your girlfriend, it means the world to the girls too.
"Thank you for coming. Not only because Chaeryeong was driving us insane with how sad she was that she thought you wouldn't be able to make it," Ryujin said, pausing as Chaeryeong pouted and you all laughed. "But also, we appreciate you being here."
"Our number one MIDZY!" Chaeryeong grinned as she squeezed you tight.
"Forever and always." You proudly spoke.
"Okay, I hate ruining this adorable moment but we do have to take some photos now," Lia said.
"It's all good. I'll be here when you're done."
You gave Chaeryeong one more quick hug and kiss before she joined the girls to go and take some photos together while you watched from across the room, so proud of all five of them and how far they've come.
But they were only just beginning, their future as five still brighter than ever.
