***Two Days Later***
"Yo Jacques, still ain't texted your girl yet?" Bryce asked. Jacques had forgot about bringing Jacelyn up to California for college. He shook his head. "Nah dawg, she completely mad I forgot to bring her out to California to say my goodbyes so we end things off rough. I don't just know where I went wrong with shawty." Jacques explained. Devon walked in the locker room. "Bro you gotta at least talk to her. Its like things got different since graduation. What did happened with the two of you? Devon asked. Jacques and Jacelyn went their own ways. "Dawg I don't know. She still stuck on that whole Kyra/Kesha situation. I got a text from Kyra and Jacelyn completely tripped out. But what made it worse, she found out I was lowkey going chill with Kyra. So she left. We split up. " Jacques explained. The boys gasped. "You mean as broke up? Devon asked in shocked. "Man I don't know. I haven't texted her. She hasn't texted me." The guys shook their head. "Bro does Jadien know?" Rashan asked. "You better hope Jay don't find out or you'll get beat the f*** up!" Devon said. Bryce nudged him. "Fellows let go! Break time over with." Coach Stevens yelled. The boys headed out except Jacques. He looked at phone at the picture of Jacelyn. He realized that he had it bad. He missed her but knew she's probably doing better off without him in college. "Yo Perez get out here now or you'll be running for the rest of practice!" Coach Stevens yelled. Jacques quickly got up. "Coming sir." he said.
The whole practice time, Jacques only thought of Jacelyn. "Perez get your head in the game son." Coach Stevens yelled. Jacques didn't realized that Don made a free throw. "C'mon Jacques. Get the ball! Don't let him score." Rashan shouted. Just as Don tried to make a shot, Jacques blocked the shot. He took the ball and dribbled down the court. He made a three point. "There you go Jacques." Bryce shouted.
Two hours later practice ended. All the boys headed in the locker room for a shower. "Perez I need to speak with you in my office." Coach Stevens said. Everybody got quiet. Jacques followed coach into his office. He closed the door. "Son what has gotten into you. You're slacking on your job. I made you captain for a reason. You making me regret it. Tomorrow practice better be much better than today. Now get out my office." Coach Stevens said opening up the door. Everybody was gone except Devon, Bryce and Rashan. "You good?" Devon asked him. Jacques grabbed his bag and walked off without answering Devon. "Damn he got it bad. We got to do something to help him. We got a game coming up and I refuse to have to ran laps again for losing." Rashan said. Bryce nudged him. "The boy lost his girl. Wouldn't you be down to if you lost Taylor?" Bryce said. Devon walked off. "Dev, where you going?" Rashan asked. "Maan I gotta get home to Alexis. She have a doctor appointment. I can't miss my baby ultrasound." Devon explained as walking off. The boys forgot Alexis was some weeks pregnant. "That boy Devon gon' be a daddy." Rashan clowned. Bryce pulled out his phone to call Maureen.
Maureen- Hey baby you out of practice? Oh my gosh I missed you so much. How was practice?
Bryce- Yeah baby girl. Hey have you heard from the girls. I'm worried about Jacques. Lately he's been down.
Maureen- No I haven't heard from Jacelyn since yesterday. I last talked to her before she had to go studying with a couple of college friends.
Bryce- Guys or girls?
Maureen- I'm guessing a mixture of both. Before I could ask her, she quickly cut me off.
Bryce- I hope girls to be honest. Maan Jacques been a little down lately. I was worried about the both of them.
Maureen- I am too baby but I got to go. My next class is about to start. I love you.
***End of the Conversation ***
Bryce looked at his phone shocked. I hope Jacelyn still holding up good. Just thinking about her with someone else would ruin Jacques. "Bryce what's wrong? " a girl asked. It was the coach daughter, Teri. She was a Carmel color. She stood at 5'6. She wearing a skirt just above her knees. On her ankle was a tattoo. She had on a crop tee. "Ummm yeah. I was just leaving." he said rushing out. She reached out his hand. "Why the rush? I want some company until my father comes out" Teri flirted. Bryce sighed. "Fine then." They walked to a seat out in the lobby. "So you play ball for my father I see." Teri said. Bryce nodded. He was lost for words. The coach daughter was a very attractive girl. "I-I-I got to go. My girlfriend waiting on me at home." Bryce lied. "Waaait! " she shouted. Bryce turned around. "Here's my number in case you get bored and need some company. I'm free all the time" she whispered in his ear slowly. He backed away. "Eeehh I'm good. I really should be going." he said rushing out the door. He got in his car and drove to his apartment. What the hell just happened? He thought to himself.
