Chapter Nine

Jacques and Kelsey arrived at their grandma's house. "Oh lord. Adam our grandchildren here." Charlotte shouted on the porch. Adam came outside. "Goddess Kelsey got so big." he said rushing towards her. She walked over. She hugged her grandfather. "I was so worried about you. How your mama doing?" Adam asked. Kelsey begin crying. Charlotte came over. "Jacques let me talk to you." Charlotte said. Jacques followed. They went in the house. "Your mother still with that Chris guy of hers?" Charlotte asked. Jacques shook his head. "Actually I took care of his butt today. The neighbor was sobbing. Something told me to stop by there when I came down here. Kelsey quickly ran to me. Chris must've hit her because she has a bruise on her back. But luckily, my pops came through. He shot Chris though." Jacques explained. Charlotte shook her head. "I'm glad my son-in-law was there to save her." Charlotte said. That's when Adam came in the door. "Charlotte I believe we have a visitor." Adam said. Charlotte turned to see Rachel and Roberto coming in the door. "Aww my goddess. Rachel my dear. Come here baby." Charlotte sobbed. She walked that way. "Mama I'm fine. I'm okay." she cried. Roberto shook Adam hand. "Keep my baby girl in your hands. I don't what I would do if I lose my baby girl." Adam said. Roberto nodded. "I will sir." Charlotte came out the kitchen. "Well while we all here. Let's celebrate Thanksgiving together as a family." she suggested. Roberto agreed. Kelsey jumped up and down. "Jacques can we? Can we? Can we?" she said tugging at his shirt. Jacques chuckled. "We can!" Kelsey smiled. She headed towards the kitchen with her mama and stepfather. Rachel followed behind her kids.

After dinner, Jacques helped clean up the kitchen. "I got it from here baby." Charlotte said. "Jacques can I holla at for a minute." Roberto said. Jacques walked over. They went outside to the porch. "I know I haven't been a part of your life and I apologize. I had to get myself together. I wasn't ready for a baby at eighteen. It was rough for me your age. But I'm here now to make up nineteen years. If there's anything you need, give me a call." he said handing him a card. "Actually I need some help with something." Jacques said. They talked and talked. That's when Rachel came outside. "Jacques I believe someone on the phone for you." she said. Jacques walked in the house. He grabbed the phone.

Jacques- Yo wassup?

???- Baby you coming through tonight?

Jacques- Who's this?

???- The streets told me you back in Detroit

Jacques- Kyra?

***End of the Conversation***

He looked at the phone. "Everything okay?" his mother asked. Jacques shook his head. "I gotta go." he said rushing out the house. "Jacques wait!" his father said chasing behind him. Before he knew it, he was pulling out the driveway. Roberto jumped in his car and went behind him.

Who do think call his grandmother's house? How do you feel about Jacques father coming back? Poor Kelsey grew up on Jacques. Now she can't get enough of her older brother. Grandma Charlotte and Grandpa Adam finally seen Kelsey. Rachel back with Roberto. Bye bye Chris (the stepfather).
