Chapter Forty

Byrce paced back and forward. "Maureen should be here by now!" he shouted. "Bro just calm down. Maybe something came up!" Rashan said. Maureen mother walked over to Byrce. "Sweetheart she'll be here. Trust me I know my daughter!" Byrce sat down. That's when the door flew open. It was Maureen. Her hands was full. The boys helped her. "Dang girl what you brought the whole store!" Devon said packing a bag. She chuckled. That's when Kendall came in behind her. The girls mouth dropped. Her parents were confused. All the parents were confused! Byrce walked in to see a guy behind Maureen. He was packing bags in. Jacelyn got up. "Umm Maureen can I see you for a moment?" Jacelyn said walking to an empty room. Taylor and Alexis followed.

"Are you crazy bringing another guy here!" Alexis shouted. Maureen waved it off. "Look he's just a friend from college. He has nowhere to go for Christmas or spend it with. He has no family. They all gone. Like grave gone. I offered him to come because no one deserve to spend Christmas alone. Plus he's been quite the help since my girls went splitting up on me." Jacelyn chuckled. "Hey I'm sorry about Jadien. He didn't deserve to die so soon. I know I'm late on the news. I was working on a project outta town with no signal." Taylor hugged her. "Its okay! We back together now!" Jacelyn nodded. Alexis nodded. They walked out the room to see the guys crowded around him. "Byrce, Rashan and Devon move away from him. That's just my best friend Kendall. I was wondering if he could celebrate with us." Maureen asked. "Of course he can sweetie. I made enough food for everyone!" Rachel said. Roberto nodded. "Fine with me. They went into the dining room. Everybody sat by their spouse. Alexis sat by Devon. Jacelyn sat by Jacques. Taylor sat by Rashan. Maureen sat by Byrce. On the side of her was Kendall. JaMarcus sat by Brooke. Destinee sat by Janelle and Jay. The kids sat the kids table. That's when Rachel brought out the food. Everybody eyes got big. "Ma this food smell delicious. Time to dig in!" JaMarcus yelled. Rachel popped his hand. "Not until we pray." Grandma Charlotte said out of nowhere. "Mom you made it!" Rachel said. Behind her was Grandpa Adam. He hugged Kelsey. "Such new faces I see!" Grandma Charlotte said. Jacques got up to help her. "Thank you dear." she said. Jacques sat back down. "May everybody bow their head." Jay said. Janelle was surprised at him. Everybody bowed their head.

Father we thank you another year of Christmas. Father I know these past months and years has been bumpy for everyone but without you we wouldn't be here at this moment. Bless us with the food Rachel and Roberto has prepared for us to eat. Bless everyone at this table that has come home for the holidays. Bless Alexis and Devon for giving Savanah a beautiful and handsome granddaughter and grandson. I wanna thank you God for letting me finally come home to family and get off them streets. Thank you Jesus. In Jesus name we pray Amen! Amen. Everybody clapped. "Now let's eat!" JaMarcus said again. Jacques laughed. "Still the same greedy dude!" As everybody was eating, Kendall remained quiet. "You don't have to remain quiet dear. We all family here!" Rebecca said. Savanah nodded. Kendall smiled. He ate his food. Once everybody was done, they put their plates in the sink. Rachel went to wash them until JaMarcus and Jacques stopped her. "We can take it from here!" they said. She smiled and backed away. "Thank you boys!" Maureen stood up. "Okay I have an announcement to make!" Maureen shouted. Everybody got quiet. "I'm so glad to see all my girls on this lovely Christmas. We haven't met up since the graduation party. Unfortunately we lost someone from the group. Jadien, he was brother of Jacelyn. The son of Mrs. West and Mr. West. It was a terrible lost seeing both of her sons called home by God. Jacelyn I love you like a sister girl. Jadien didn't deserve to die. He kept this group maintain. He keep it in order. Everything was all good when he was around. Now look at us! We becoming distant from one another. Taylor out doing her modeling thang! Alexis now a mother. Devon a father. Jacelyn got engaged to Jacques! Mrs. West got married to Mr. West! There's been so much taken place that Jadien had missed. Raelyn and Naomi. I know its rough on you dealing with a child without her father. I feel you a hundred percent. All I wanted to say I'm soooo blessed we are gathered here today! Lord knows what could've happen. Jacques hold on to Jacelyn. Its a once in a lifetime you'll find another girl like her. Alexis cherish Devon. He gave to two amazing babies. Twins at that. Devon appreciate Alexis for not getting an abortion on them. She went through rough nine months just to have the babies y'all blessed with now! And for Byrce. Baby I love you with all my heart. I'm not a perfect girlfriend. I make mistakes. I misjudged alot. Only cause I never been in love like I am now with you." Everybody was in tears. "Bryce I am in love with you and I'm glad God put me with you after all these years. I don't want anyone else but you. You are my world and without you in it, I'll as lost as ever!" He went walked over and hugged his girlfriend. "I love you too. Whatever you did, it doesn't even matter." he said kissing her. "Baby that was beautiful." Janelle said. Everyone clapped. Alexis, Taylor, and Jacelyn hugged Maureen. "We love you too girl!" The boys stood back. The parents clapped. That's when Kendall brought out the presents. "Merry Christmas to everyone!" Maureen shouted. Kelsey and Raelyn quickly opened theirs. "Oh my gosh! IPhone 6s Gold Rose! Thank you Maureen!" Naomi opened hers. It was a frame of her and Ja'Quan when they first met. It was her, Jadien, Jacelyn and Ja'Quan. Tears formed in her eyes. She hugged Maureen. "It's beautiful girl. I love it!" Byrce opened his gift. His eyes got big. "Aww baby you didn't have to. A Chicago Bull joggers with and shirt plus a Rolex watch." he placed a kiss on her lips. "Thank you baby!" Alexis and Devon opens theirs. It was matching clothes for the twins. One shirt says "Daddy's Little Girl" and the other said "Mommy's Litte Boy" plus Nicki Minaj perfume. Alexis got up and hugged Maureen. "Girl this is too cute. Hmm I'm gon' be smiling good." Maureen smiled. Everybody was enjoying their gift. That's when Byrce walked over and handled her gift. "Open it up!" he said. Maureen opened up to see a charm bracelet. It had a school, palm tree, basketball, hamburger, and a heart with a infinity sign. On the back of the heart reads "Forever Byrce Girl" Maureen begin crying. "Baby its gorgeous. It has every place we been since we met. It even has the hamburger when you took me out for lunch as our first date." Maureen said eagerly. He laughed. "I love you Maureen Henderson!" She smiled. She walked over to Kendall. "Here's a gift for you too." Maureen said pulling a box from behind her back. Inside the box was a note. He read it and immediately hugged her. "Thank you Maureen. He pulled out an locket. "I can't honestly thank you enough for being there when I needed someone to talk to. These past months in college with you has been amazing. Kendall I love you like a best friend. Well you are! I don't care if you're gay. Everybody deserve to be together on Christmas day. I'm sorry your parents couldn't accept you for you but I do. They don't know what they missing out on but may they rest in peace. Their son turned into the most handsome man ever." Kendall became emotional. Everybody came over to hug him. "You'll welcome here Kendall!" Rachel said. "You can always come here sweetheart!" Rebecca said. Jacelyn stood back. This has been the most amazing Christmas of all. Jacques was standing next to her holding hands. "I know Ja'Quan and Jadien would love to see how lil JayyCee turned out after all. How Jacques finally listened to both of them. Baby girl I'm can't say I'm sorry enough. All I need you in my life." That's when Kelsey and Raelyn grabbed a mistletoe. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" they cheered. Jacelyn and Jacques laughed. He pulled her close and placed passionate kiss on her lips. The girls smiled.
