It might not seem so to others but Tharn was fairly observant and as much as he didn't necessarily liked his major, he knew enough to understand that getting someone out of jail wasn't easy, especially if they were already processed. Even if they hadn't been processed it would still take time and a good lawyer to get someone out in a matter of minutes. For this reason, when a few minutes after getting the call from Techno, Type made a call that lasted only seconds before declaring that Champ was released, Tharn knew that his roommate wasn't an ordinary guy.
'Maybe his uncle is more rich or powerful than he claimed' he couldn't help but think once Type had left to meet up with Techno.
Tharn couldn't confirm or deny this since for the next few days Type seemed fairly busy; the older man always came in really late and left really early, when he was in the room he was usually on his phone. He should find the whole thing suspicious but instead he admired how dedicated the older man was to his friends. That level of loyalty filled Tharn with warmth and caused a feeling, he had been trying to ignore, to splash over like a pot of boiling water on high heat. He was actually happy for Type's absence since this new assertive and badass Type was making Tharn feel some kind of way, a way that he could not easily hide from the older man.
'What is wrong with me?!' Tharn berated himself for the feelings growing inside him. 'He was finally comfortable with me!'
He was angry at himself for proving himself a liar and going back on his word not to become a threat to Type. He remembered his argument with Type about not all gay men falling in love with every and any straight men they met. Tharn couldn't help but chuckle in a self-deprecating manner. He really was as horrible of a person as Techno and Type once thought he was. Yet each passing day as Tharn got to meet different sides of Type, good and bad ones, the feeling just grew stronger.
'He's a stubborn grumpy and temperamental asshole but he also cares about his people, he's willing to do anything for them, a fierce protector with a surprisingly terrifying side.'
Tharn should worry that the last one didn't fill me with fear but instead arousal, he pictured Type looming over a bully that dared mess with Tharn. He gasped at the thought of how fierce and terrifying those dark eyes would get. Tharn thought of Type as one of the characters in the mafia BL manhwas that he secretly loved to read.
"As if," he said out loud, chuckling with exasperation.
"As if what?" a voice suddenly asked startling Tharn who until this moment, was sure he had been alone in their dorm.
He turned to see none other than Type standing by the end of the bed as if he had been there for a while waiting for Tharn to notice. 'How long had he been there,' Tharn blushed as Type raised an eyebrow that told him the older man had been there long enough for it to be embarrassing. Tharn was a little confused since as the sun was still out and in the last few days, Type usually arrived late at night. "Isn't this a little early for you?" he joked instead of responding to Type's question or acknowledging the awkward elephant in the room.
"What, you wanted me to stay out longer? Need some alone time," Type joked and they both couldn't help but marvel at the improvement not only in their relationship but in the older man's comfort zone.
"What makes you think I would've been alone?" Tharn teased back and was proud to see that Type's flitch was barely noticeable although there was a dark look that briefly flashed in his eyes before it was gone.
"Eww, I don't need to know this," Type exclaimed, turning away before suddenly turning back to him. "On second thought, you're not allowed to bring anyone here."
Instead of being offended by the order, Tharn couldn't help but grin happily. "Yes, sir," he declared playfully which only made Type scoff. But Tharn saw those lips twitched as he turned around so he knew that the man was amused. "So, have you taken care of everything with Champ and Techno?" Tharn asked, after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
