A shocking -not really- confession

After the meeting at the Dean's office, things seemed to calm down not only around the campus but between Tharn and Type. A public apology was issued by the two that started it all via their Facebook group, then words started spreading that the two had been forcing and harassing many boys around campus. There was even a rumor that one of them blackmailed a guy into dating them. With that news, Type's 'homophobia' was history, most even forgot his name. Tharn, of course, started to feel bad for the two which Type rolled his eyes at.

"How have you survived all this time?"

"What do you mean?" Tharn asked, turning his head and blinking his eyes. The pure confusion and innocence in those eyes and expression just increased Type's drive to protect him.

"Nevermind," Type shook his head, not really having it in him to snark at the man.

'At this point it feels like kicking a puppy.'

For the most part, the two stayed inside to avoid all the chaos at least until the rumors died down. Tharn had been worried since his family hadn't been able to send him his stipend for food and as he wasn't going to class he didn't have the snacks that he was always given. Fortunately, Type seemed to eat with his eyes because he always bought too much food. The grumpy man declared he was going to throw it out but Tharn stopped him.

"You can't throw food away!"

"But I don't want it."

"Then why buy so much?" Tharn wondered but Type just looked away with a pout. "You're really bad with portion control," Tharn scolded.

"Then you buy it!"

Somehow that became a thing; they just effortlessly fell into a very domestic routine where Tharn would take Type's credit card and buy lunch. At first, he only bought food for the older man but then Type claimed to always be hungry so he bought more. Soon it turned into buying lunch for both of them, Tharn wasn't sure why he ended up handling the money since Type was the one studying business management and the one good with numbers. It kind of felt like a husband and wife, where the husband makes the money but the wife manages it.

"You suck at your own major," he eventually teased the older man when he noticed.

"Says the lawyer that declared himself guilty before fighting his case," Type rolled his eyes.

"I'm not a lawyer yet," Tharn could only pout, his cheeks slightly reddened.

Type had noticed that Tharn didn't seem very into his career choice, in fact the man seemed to downright detest it. From what his people found out about Tharn, Type knew that the man's family had some legal issues in the past and it might be the reason Tharn decided to become a lawyer. But he had seen the younger man constantly banging on things, how he smiled and seemed to shine whenever he listened to music. It was an enchanting sight that Type often couldn't look away from.

That was another thing that was different, Type felt different around Tharn and he couldn't understand it because the man never changed his attitude towards him. He was still friendly, considerate, and kind; he was still too forgiving and understanding; most of all he still respected Type's boundaries which should be great. But for some reason seeing Tharn avoid his touch like Type carried the plague or always stepping back like he was stung, annoyed him.

His annoyance was made even worse by the fact that Type caught himself a few times about to touch Tharn or actually let the man touch him just to have Tharn move away making his chest tightened at the seeming rejection. Even worse, Type didn't feel the repulsion he always felt when a man got too close to him or even the shivers he still felt when Techno, Khom, his father or his uncle touched him. It was all confusing and annoying; as if that wasn't enough, Techno was getting on his nerves.
