The welcome back feast wasn't any less tense than the train ride to Hogwarts, especially after Dumbledore informed the students that the dementors would actually be around the school grounds as well. Y/N, who was already irritated after hearing about Harry fainting on the train - a fact she discovered after Draco Malfoy loudly announced it to the Great Hall - was practically shaking in her seat.
"Dementors at Hogwarts," she scoffed, aggressively stabbing her fork into the roast beef sitting in front of her. "My father will hear about this," she muttered.
"Calm down, Malfoy," Lee laughed, trying to relieve his friend's tension.
"I mean, are they serious? What is the Ministry thinking? As if Sirius Black is going to do anything at Hogwarts," Y/N continued.
George gingerly took the fork away from her and set it down beside her plate. "At this rate, you're going to crack the table."
Y/N shot him an annoyed look before shaking it off. "Even if Black gets into Hogwarts, what is he going to do?"
"He'd go after Harry, I suppose," Angelina shrugged, prompting the group to collectively turn their heads towards the center of the table, where Harry and the other third years sat.
"Not if I can help it," Y/N grumbled.
"What? You're going to go head-to-head with the only man to ever escape Azkaban?" Lee asked incredulously.
"Well, we can't let her outshine us, George," Fred chimed in. "We're in."
"Absolutely not," Alicia countered.
"You just want to shag him," Lee commented, pointing his fork accusingly at Y/N. "Isn't that what you said this morning?"
Y/N glared at George, who raised his hands defensively, causing her to shift her look to Fred.
"Hey, you're the one who shouted it," Fred replied with a small grin. "Not my fault if he overheard."
"You have shown to be into Slytherins," Lee added.
"I have not!" she argued. "Besides, Black was a Gryffindor."
"Ah, so even more of a reason," Angelina said, sharing a look with Alicia before the two burst into a fit of giggles.
Y/N briefly glanced at George before shaking her head. "You lot are impossible."
"Well, I for one wouldn't shag Black, but the new DADA professor-"
"Alicia!" Angelina exclaimed, looking at her friend in disbelief.
Lee turned towards Professor Lupin, who was chatting with McGonagall, and made a show of observing him.
"I see it," he shrugged.
"You'd shag a professor?" George asked in amusement.
"I'm not above doing favors for a grade," Lee replied, causing the group to laugh. He elbowed Angelina, who was sitting next to him, and silently nodded towards Y/N. The girl had finally seemed to relax and the friends shared a knowing look.
"What do you think, Y/N?" Alicia asked, gesturing towards the professors' table. "He is only in his thirties."
Y/N shook her head and picked up her fork again.
"What? Too old for you?" Angelina asked, tilting her head slightly. "Perhaps, you'd prefer a certain Weasley."
Y/N's eyes widened and George's heart sped up - both feared they had been exposed, though for varying reasons; Fred and Lee shot Angelina a confused look; while Alicia failed to hold back a laugh.
