"Who does she think she is?!" Y/N exclaimed, a loud thud sounding as she slammed the boys' dorm door. She shouldered her bag off and tossed her textbooks on top of George's trunk.
It had only been a week since the students returned to Hogwarts and already, there were daily complaints about Umbridge's teaching and even more about the lack of action or response the other professors would give to upset students regarding her teaching method. Not only that, but the school had become completely divided on the topic of Harry, meaning that, alongside the snide remarks against Umbridge, there were also mass claims being thrown around about Harry.
There were multiple occasion, where his friends would retaliate on his behalf — Harry had always opted on ignoring the comments, unless they were from Draco Malfoy of course.
The first incident started with Ron, who very loudly confronted Seamus during the first week of school; then Ginny, who had long since mastered the bat bogey spell and threatened to hex anyone who uttered a single negative word about the boy; and most recently, the twins, who were more than happy to test out their products on whatever poor student decided to speak up around them. Hermione was also quick to defend her friend, but she often opted on using her words rather than brute force. All in all, it was no surprise that the Weasleys were the loudest defenders of Harry.
More recently, Y/N had hexed a pair of fourth years who she overheard talking poorly about the boy, which resulted in her receiving detention from McGonagall. In fact, she had just returned from that detention.
"There's no way you're talking about McGonagall right now," Lee said, looking over from where he laid in bed.
"I'm not," Y/N huffed, irritatedly pulling her robes off so that she was now only in her button-up shirt and slacks. "That pink-clad toad showed up in the middle of it."
"What did she do now?" Alicia asked from her spot at the foot of Lee's bed. She and Angelina had been hunched over homework prior to Y/N's arrival.
Y/N trudged over to George, who was leaning against his head headboard, after slinging her robes over the edge of his bed and tugged lightly at the hem of his sweater. He let out a quiet chuckle before pulling the sweater over his head and handing it to her.
"She said something about reporting to Fudge. I don't know," Y/N huffed as she pulled the large sweater on, keeping her arms inside to take her blouse off from underneath. She fidgeted with the buttons before pulling the fabric out from the under the sweater and slipping her arms into the sleeves, successfully changing out of her uniform. "George, can I-"
"Yeah, yeah," he dismissed, having already gotten up to grab her a spare pair of pajama pants.
"Anyways, she showed up and started talking about Harry," she continued, mumbling a thanks as George handed the pants to her. "She's given him detention for saying the truth and she basically came to McGonagall's office to gloat about it. Can you guys-"
"Already turning," Fred said, having flipping over to face the wall, same as Lee and George. Meanwhile, Angelina and Alicia continued to nod along as she spoke.
George's sweater was long enough for nothing to be exposed, but the boys had already grown used to the routine, having had so much of their wardrobe overtaken by the girls during the years — Y/N was just the most frequent culprit.
"But I guess he has detention this weekend," she said as she quickly changed out of her slacks. "She kept calling him an undisciplined liar and talked about how it only made sense for an orphan to act that way. I swear, if McGonagall didn't stop me I would have hexed her too. You can turn around now."
The boys turned back around with ease and Y/N crawled into bed beside George, who immediately moved to create more space for her. She sat beside him, not able to get very comfortable due to her pent-up anger from encountering Umbridge.
